Angels and saints. Catholics tend to think of them as different from the rest of us. Theyre cast in plaster or simpering on a holy card, performing miracles with superhero strength, or playing a harp in highest heaven.
Yet they are very near to us in every way. In this lively book, Scott Hahn dispels the false notions and urban legends people use to keep the saints at a safe distance. The truth is that Jesus Christ has united heaven and earth in a close communion. Drawing deeply from Scripture, Dr. Hahn shows that the hosts of heaven surround the earthly Church as a "great cloud of witnesses." The martyrs cry out from heavens altar begging for justice on the earth. The prayers of the saints and angels rise to God, in the Book of Revelation, like the sweet aroma of incense.
Dr. Hahn tells the stories of several saints (and several angels too) in a way thats fresh and new. The saints are spiritual giants but with flesh-and-blood reality. They have strong, holy ambitionsand powerful temptations and opposition that must be overcome. Their stories are amazing and yet familiar enough to motivate us to live more beautiful lives. In this telling of their story, the saints are neither otherworldly nor this-worldly. They exemplify the integrated life that every Christian is called to live.
Still, their lives are as different from one another as human lives can be. Dr. Hahn shows the heavenly Church in all its kaleidoscopic diversityfrom Moses to Mary, Augustine to Therese, and the first century to the last century.
Only saints will live in heaven. We need to be more like the saints if we want to live in heaven someday. Dr. Hahn shows us that our heavenly life can begin now.

Just do not pray to them! Only pray to God the Father, Son & Holy Ghost! To pray to saints and angels or Mary is blasphemy! Jesus Himself said ‘I am the way, the truth, and the light, no one comes to the Father except by Me”
Don`t mean no disregard nor disrespect for DR who, and maybe good reading but is it true?.
If you read something that is not in that little dusty Bible it may not be true.
If all of the books written about the bible were true then there is no way any one who is not a millionaire even has a chance of being saved because we don`t have the money.
....Or rather ask them to ask God/Jesus for help.
Do you ask others to pray for you?
It is not the same as praying to God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We do that, too. :)
They deny the Mystical Body of Christ and will be bound in everlasting chains for this rejection of God’s holy truth. It’s time to digitally shake the dust from your feet and move on.
We ask angels and saints to pray for us.
That’s it.
Have you ever asked anyone to pray for you?
Why do you keep perpetuating this falsehood then?

Early Christians Representations of Angels[Feast day Guardian Angels]
For people who interpret Scripture (the subset of Scripture they don't throw out that is), based solely on what their Self and Self Alone guides them to the difference between asking someone to pray for you and praying to someone is a bit too fine a distinction for those blinded by the glaucoma of Sola Yourselfa to make.
You see, the spirit they're filled with is the spirit of Self that is comfortable with the idea of Jesus Christ surrendering to Satan and evacuating the Sola Yourselfa crowd alive from the roofs of embassies and survivalist bunkers, but very uncomfortable with the idea of the Self tasting death before being united with Christ.
"United with Christ" is something else they're not really comfortable with since that means when so united the Self fades into a memory, if that, and becomes a part of Christ doing the will of Christ to the exclusion of the will of the Self.
People who are looking forward to riding their golden lawn mowers across their golden lawns in heaven cannot accept the fact that when united with Christ they will be doing His will rather than continuing to focus on their Self.
Therefore, when Scripture clearly states that an angel with a golden censer and much incense offers the prayers of the saints on the alter, the golden mansion crowd refuses to believe such prayers include prayers from those who have already died in a state of Grace and who now pray for souls still stuck on temporal flypaper.
Of course, they like "there are none righteous, no not one" but they also like to ignore the fact that if there are none righteous in this mortal life the only prayers of the righteous availing much have to be the prayers of those who are already in heaven. But once again, Sola Yourselfa glaucoma blinds them to what is clear from Scripture.
After all, if the Self still exists, so such folks reason, surely it will have better things to do than to worry about those who still struggle along in the flesh on earth.
It's a waste of time to try and reason with such folks. Pray for them, a LOT.
Point them to the truth then let them go on their way. They're under a strong delusion, maybe even early stages of THE strong delusion Scripture says will lead so many astray just prior to the final victorious return of Christ the King.
Not those who have passed from this life. Now if you could show where Jesus or the apostles taught to do so let's see it.
That statement is totally false. The prayers to Mary and the so called saints asking them to do things are posted on the web for all to see.
Thats it.<<
That is blatantly false as has been shown many times. The prayers to Mary and the so called saints are posted on the web for all to see.
Thats it.
Must we have to provide evidence to you every time you make that false claim???
No, we just don't latch on to one verse or part of a verse and build a religion on it...
Rev 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
So for a half hour period and angel delivers prayers in heaven...That's not much time...
Rev 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. Rev 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
So we have an angel with a handful of prayers from the saints mixed with incense and the angel sets these prayers on a golden altar...This angel is also holding a golden censer...
Do I have that right or do I need one of you guys to interpret it for me???
Rev 8:5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
After the angel is done handing off the prayers, he fills his censer and casts it to the earth...Do I have that right so far???
Apparently that is the beginning of something big as we can see...
Rev 8:6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
Rev 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
Rev 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
"So for a half hour period and angel delivers prayers in heaven..."It ain't cool to be that blind no matter what someones' Self tells them to the contrary.
have a nice day
It ain't cool to be that blind no matter what someones' Self tells them to the contrary.
Best you could do eh??? You guys drool over a single verse that your religious dogma is built on but when putting it in the context of the rest of scripture, it shows this angel had a half hour to deliver the prayers of the saints and now you don't know what to say except throw insults...
Typical Catholic action...
The truth of the scriptures condemns your religion no matter which way you turn...
