LOUISVILLE The growing trend of former church buildings being turned into mosques and Islamic centers has reached Kentucky’s largest city where even some once-thriving Southern Baptist facilities are now occupied by Muslims.
“On a trip to England a few years ago, I recall seeing dozens of churches that had become mosques and wondering how it could happen there; now it’s happening here,” said Paul Chitwood, executive director of the Kentucky Baptist Convention.
Todd Robertson, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Louisville, said the religious makeup of the Bible Belt is rapidly changing with declining membership in many Christian congregations and growing participation in Islam and other religions.

Islamists have a plan. Take over America one city at a time, and slowly push out Christianity and install Sharia. Nobody goes to Church anymore. My wife and I are just part of the few old people who go to our Church. There are one or two young couples, from time to time, and that is just it.
I really don’t think people appreciate just how much our way of life is over and not coming back.
This stuff is going to end one of two ways, and I don’t think peaceful coexistence is one of them.
There is a big stink on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland as the Uniting Church (formerly Methodists) sold a property to Muslims. They intend to build a mosque on it - the property is next door to a Catholic Church.
While I don’t think they did it to get back at the Catholics I am sure they did it as a gesture to show religious equivalence between Islam and Christianity. The Uniting Church are so lukewarm they make me want to vomit John Wesley would be turning in his grave!
There’s a reason those Christian churches are declining. One is there are too many “get rich quick and be happy” sermons. Another is the “open arms” policy and having services in different languages. Someone once said “You can’t serve two masters”. I wonder who that was.
In my rust-belt city, we have a lot of closed Catholic Churches. The buildings have been empty for years.
There is one, in the yemeni section of town - that as soon as it closed, the Catholic Diocese razed it to the ground. There was nothing said publicly, but I know why they did it.
What the article does not say is if the population is changing along with those church/mosque changes. Are Baptists becoming Muslims or are Muslims immigrating? Are cities becoming sanctuaries for immigrants?
And the biggest question is this: Are those in the religions that are growing PRO-LIFE and anti-contraceptive? Telling God you don’t want His blessings kind of cuts off your nose to spite your face in my opinion.
My church is growing in California. We just opened a new campus. It’s young and energetic. It’s the best church I’ve ever been a part of.The head pastor iis excellent, but so are the associate pastors. If something happens to our head pastor, we would still be fine.
It’s very modern on how the message is told, but very conservative in it’s beliefs. It’s definitely Biblical. Our series now is on 1 Peter.

My church has a clause that property can only be sold to another Christian organization.

One of the things that the US government has done in recent years is seed the entire country with Muslim immigrants, most of whom aren’t even the old style “immigrant” who comes here looking for opportunity, but Muslims claiming refugee status...although often the reason that they claim to be fleeing is that they actually belonged to a more radical group and their ME governments were trying to suppress radicalism in their own countries. So naturally, that’s the type we want here, right?
Also, buying up churches is part of a concerted effort by Muslims to extend their presence or even make it look greater than it is. The money does not come from the local Afghani shopkeeper, but from the Saudi government or other international Islamic channels. They particularly make an effort to buy prominent buildings, whether churches or abandoned government buildings, so that their presence will look greater.
No wonder Americans have been loading up on guns and ammo.
