Actress Olivia Wilde is featured on the cover of the September issue of Glamour magazine. Inside the glossy is an article in which Wilde talks about what life is like for her being a working mom.
An article featuring the vacuous ramblings of the newby mom (I wasnt going to sacrifice myself because I was becoming a mother, she told her interviewer) would be unworthy of comment here were it not for the pictorial that accompanied the article.
Or, more specifically, the photo of Wilde sitting in the booth of some Hollywood diner, glammed up in a Roberto Cavalli dress, Yossi Harari earings and Prada heels, publicly breastfeeding her naked five-month-old son Otis.
Thats the Cloud-Cuckoo Land in which celebrity moms like Wilde live. And while most expectant young women know that its make believe indeed, Wilde admits that she doesnt really look like that when baby Otis is suckling her breast there almost certainly are some star-struck moms-to-be who think Wilde a maternal role model.
But the actress most certainly is not.
And not just because she dressed herself up in an haute couture dress to breastfeed her newborn (who wee-weed on the garment, she confided). Nor also because she has made a mockery of the beautiful act of breastfeeding by her public exhibitionism.
But, more so, because she dares to celebrate the birth of her child outside of marriage. And because she declares that theres no definition of the normal family anymore.
Well in Hollywood there may be no such thing as a normal family anymore. But for those who honor God, Who is the same yesterday, today and forever, there was, is and always will be a normal family.
And it beings with holy matrimony.
In the best-selling book Sacred Marriage, Christian author Gary Thomas, reminds us of why marriage remains the second-most important institution (after the church) in the Christian life:
Because God created marriage as a faithful partnership between one man and one woman. Because marriage is the firmest foundation for building a family. Because God designed sexual expression to help married couples to build intimacy. And because marriage mirrors Gods covenant relationship with His people.
The institution of marriage is under assault in our culture and in our politics, from Hollywood to Washington. Unwed-by-choice celebrity moms like Olivia Wilde are glorified. While the president of United States declares that all should be free to marry who you love (which, of course, means homosexual couples).
The defilement of marriage, of childbirth and of family rates among the devils greatest triumphs. Those who have fallen into his snares have sown the wind and will one day reap the whirlwind.
“Unwed parenthood” is not a sin. Sex outside marriage is a sin, whether it results in a baby or not.
They are winning. We are losing.
She’s just another Hollywood idiot.
She’s involved with PETA, Moveon.org, and the ACLU. So of course with such liberal leanings, she will say there is no definition of family anymore. She’s got the whole package, the whole liberal mindset down pat.
Since when has the world embraced true Christians...?
Matthew 5:11-12, NKJV. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
"Hey Peter, man, check out channel 9, check out this chick"
I’m holding out for canine polyamory, we’re tired of
living in sin.
Do you think when the men routinely breast-feed in public that men will lose interest in breasts? Just asking.
The nominees for the Please, Please Look at Me Award are: Olivia Wilde, ... This is just plain old attention seeking behavior.
I always liked to breast feed my babies at home,in a rocking chair, where it was quiet, and I could talk or sing to them. I’ve also always felt that even an infant deserves some dignity. But then I was handicapped by caring more about my children than myself.
Nice shoes!
Whose Olivia Wilde and why should I care again?
I'm sure all those other single working moms out there can relate to Ms. Wilde's struggles in properly vetting a nanny.
I’ve read the book ... we win in the end.
Wilde was born in New York City.[2] Her mother, Leslie Cockburn[2] (née Redlich), is an American-born 60 Minutes producer and journalist. Her father, Andrew Cockburn,[2] a journalist, was born in London to British parents and raised in Ireland; her uncles, Alexander Cockburn and Patrick Cockburn, also worked as journalists. Wilde's older sister, Chloe Cockburn,[2] is a civil rights attorney in New York; her aunt, Sarah Caudwell, was a writer, and her paternal grandfather, Claud Cockburn, was a novelist and journalist. Wilde's father's upper-class English ancestors lived in several places at the height of the British Empire, including Peking (where her paternal grandfather was born), Calcutta, Bombay, Cairo, and Tasmania (one of her paternal great-great-grandfathers, Henry Arthur Blake, was Governor of Hong Kong).[3] Wilde's father's ancestors include abolitionist and Anglican minister James Ramsay, politician George Arbuthnot, lawyer, judge, and literary figure Henry Cockburn, Lord Cockburn, Lord Provost of Edinburgh Sir William Arbuthnot, and Sir Thomas Osborne.[3][4] Wilde's ancestry includes English, Irish, Scottish, Manx, and German; she is also of 1/64th Sephardi Jewish descent (from Spain and Portugal) through Ralph Bernal (17831854), a British Whig politician and actor.[5][6]
Wilde has said that as a result of her parents' occupations, she has a "strong journalistic streak," being "really critical and analytical.[1] Both her parents were prominent in the Washington social scene, hosting dinner parties. Her mother once recounted a story of a four-year-old[7] Wilde eavesdropping one night on a conversation between diplomat Richard Holbrooke and singer Mick Jagger, until Jagger noticed her and shooed her to bed. She has wanted to become an actress since the age of two.[1] For a short time, Wilde's family had a house in Guilford, Vermont. She attended Georgetown Day School in Washington, D.C., as well as Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, graduating in 2002. She also studied acting at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland.[1] Wilde had writer Christopher Hitchens as a babysitter.[2]

What role models she had!!
Because some people in government are now hostile to marriage as God defined it, in order to protect godly marriage we must remove the power of the State to define and regulate marriage. Then anyone will be perfectly free to enter into whatever relationship they want. However, they will not be able to call upon the police power of the state to force me to recognize a “marriage” that I know is theologically illegitimate and morally repugnant.
If we remove government from marriage and return it to the private sphere where it came from, lesbians can still marry each other, but they won’t be able to use government to force me to sell them wedding cake or artfully photograph their “marriage”. They will be free to do as they please without being able to coerce anyone else about their private affair.
