"At this difficult moment we affirm again the significant ecumenical progress which has been made in the decades since the Second Vatican Council and the development of firm and lasting friendships between our communities."
The following is a statement from the bishops's conference of England and Wales, issued in response to a vote on July 14 to ordain bishops in the Church of England. The ballot took place during the ecclesial community's general synod in York, England.
The Catholic Church remains fully committed to its dialogue with the Church of England and the Anglican Communion. For the Catholic Church, the goal of ecumenical dialogue continues to be full visible ecclesial communion.
Such full ecclesial communion embraces full communion in the episcopal office. The decision of the Church of England to admit women to the episcopate therefore sadly places a further obstacle on the path to this unity between us. Nevertheless we are committed to continuing our ecumenical dialogue, seeking deeper mutual understanding and practical cooperation wherever possible.

I hate diploma as much as anyone- but in diploma this translates as “This was a bad idea and you really screwed up by doing this”. All the rest is just fluff. The Church doesn’t recognize their orders anyway- so the female “bishops” are no less fraudulent than the male “bishops”.
Diploma = diplospeak. Sorry stupid autocorrect.
Are you sure about that? Why did Pope Benedict give a pectoral cross to Archdruid Rowan of the same "church"?
Well one thing’s for certain, there will be no women “priests” or “bishops” for that matter converting from Angelican to Catholicism. The Angelican Church has turned against God and sold it’s soul to the devil.
Sounds as if Catholic bishops have NO intention of imitating England's Anglicanism in this respect.
I don’t normally agree with you, but on this, yes, I agree with you. The aim should be to convert the Anglicans — there are still Christians in that denominations to whom we MUST reach out
Bingo.
AMEN.
Those who want nothing to do with the radical left elements of the COE will look into bailing out and sailing up the Tiber.
Don’t forget that Francis was also “blessed” by the Anglican “Archbishop” Justin Welby:

They probably are equals. Neither appears to hold the Catholic faith.
So why is the Catholic Church continuing to seek "unity" with this sect?
It would be nice to have all followers of Christ as one. Of course that's just my opinion.
Catholics uniting with heretics only leads to more heretics. You can’t mix oil and vinegar.
“Conversion” has now become a dirty word.
Did Pope Paul III seek unity with Henry VIII’s religion, after Henry executed Sts. John Fisher and Thomas More and thousands of other Catholics? Did Pope Paul III give Cranmer a pectoral cross and seek Cranmer’s blessing after the executions?
Why are Catholics, all of a sudden since VC II, now seeking unity with this same apostate religion, which has further apostatized?
Do you think Henry VIII was a follower of Christ or a follower of his own lust?
There is only one true Church, the Catholic Church. Benedict knew this. Too bad it seems to be lost on Francis.
