True enough...

It is possible to be an unbeliever and still be passive. Many Buddhists are this way. But these are raging God-haters.

It isn’t “stupid” it’s “FOOLISHNESS.” Rank presumptuous defiance.

Nearly a century ago, the persecution of the church in Russia started in the press. Gird up your loins, it’s going to get hot.

It’s always amusing when atheists/satanists tell Christians what their religion is all about.

And while there are some broad thematic overlaps, they never agree.

Yes, the foolishness is the more important issue, but the stupidity jumped out and danced around the room before I even noticed the foolishness.

In US, atheists know religion better than believers.

given this logic, i ought to be able to have a nuclear bomb b/c, like abortion, the constitution doesn’t explicitly say anything about it, and the bible doesn’t say i can’t have a nuclear bomb, either.

what stupid morons libtards are. just admit you want it b/c you just want it.

They think that enough determination can cover up a cockamamie story.

And then nothing in the article backs up that assertion.

Leftists cannot possibly understand the Bible. Their minds are clouded and it doesn’t make sense to them. I will not stand for a Biblical lecture from anyone who claims to be democrat/socialist/leftist or any strain of that bilge.

I don't even know what you guys are talking about but that may be the funniest thing I've read all year. I practically fell out of my chair laughing.

I could hardly believe they could argue this given how they work to make the Bible unknown.

LOL. How does anyone work to make anything unknown?

Do we really need Salon telling Christians that Christians don’t know the scriptures? This is rather laughable.

I looked that survey over very carefully and it was worth doing. Atheists did better on all religions, as if that was most important. And Mormoms were said to do better than Christians on Christianity, because there happened to be a section on Mormonism (maybe due to Romney). But the growing apathetic group, considered the allies of atheists, brought the unaffiliated scores dramatically. And evangelicals and I believe black Protestants did better on Christianity and-or the Bible. Going by memory with all this, but the news media wanted to trumpet that about “non-believers knowing most.”

The person who wrote this took some distressing statistics regarding Biblical illiteracy and is using it to disparage a legitimate Constitutional issue.

The more appropriate use of the data regarding Biblical illiteracy is to use it as evidence of our society’s moral and ethical demise.
