Nancy Pelosi Urges S.F. Archbishop to Exit Marriage March
San Francisco Gate ^ | 6/14/14 | Carla Marinucci

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi took the lead this week in a high-profile lobbying effort to pressure San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone not to attend the controversial March for Marriage event, which she characterized as "venom masquerading as virtue."

Pelosi, who is one of the country's most powerful Catholic politicians, made a passionate appeal to the archbishop in a letter obtained by The Chronicle not to participate in the National Organization for Marriage's June 19 march on the Supreme Court in Washington.

Cordileone, who is one of the featured speakers at the event, was a leader in the campaign for Proposition 8, the 2008 California anti-gay-marriage initiative.

"We share our love of the Catholic faith and our city of San Francisco," Pelosi wrote to Cordileone, who, as head of the 560,000-member Archdiocese of San Francisco, has become the Catholic bishops' point man against gay marriage. She urged him to abandon an event in which some of the participants show "disdain and hate towards LGBT persons.

Now she's ordering the Archbishop around. Not content with undermining Church teaching and ignoring Catholic dogma she's now offering the bishop advice on matters pastoral.

Good for her. The ineffectual US Catholic bishops deserve this. She knows she's home free. She knows there will be no excommunication nor any official public statement that she is not to receive Holy Communion.

What a joke they are.

She should change her name to Borgia and be done with playing games and pretending to be a Roman Catholic.

What’s Catholic about her?

I’m a descendant of the first Protestants and even I’m embarrassed for the Catholic church.

The woman should have been publicly excommunicated a long time ago, and told to stop using the church to advance who despicable career.

San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone should make Nancy Pelousy an offer she can’t refuse.

This is where we are today. To say you support marriage as a man and a woman means you hate others, and are a bigot.

The Archbishop is obviously doing something right or everyone wouldn't be trying to disinvite him.

Go Archbishop Cordileone! (Heart of a Lion)

"Nancy Pelosi Urges S.F. Archbishop to Exit Marriage March"

S.F. Archbishop needs to urge Nancy Pelosi to exit RC Church. Pelosi is weakening credibilty of RC Church imo.

Meanwhile the SF Gay PRIDE Parade ousted the National Guard from having a booth at the event. Wondering if SanFran Nancy has any effective comment on this issue?

Invoking the words of Pope Francis with regard to gays and lesbians, she wrote, "If someone is gay and is searching for the Lord and has good will, then who am I to judge him?"

The gift that keeps on giving.

No, most of the hierarchy should stop pretending to be Catholic.

We’re in good company:

4 And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”

Matthew 19:4-6

It sounds like Ms. Pelosi would be more at home in this religion:

Slight correction: Pelosi, who is one of the country's most powerful faux Catholic politicians...

I just don't get it. Pelosi, et. al., are outspoken apostates and a scandal to the faithful. Yet the hierarchy does nothing but sit and twiddle its thumbs. At the very least she should be denied Communion though excommunication would be far more appropriate.

“S.F. Archbishop needs to urge Nancy Pelosi to exit RC Church. Pelosi is weakening credibilty of RC Church imo.”

At some point the Church either excommunicates Palosi or becomes Pelosi’s handmaiden.

enough is enough - There is a Hell and some will end up there.

As I’ve said before, I would not sit through a Mass knowing that Nancy Pelosi was in the same room.
