Kim Jung-wook admits performing religious acts banned in the country and 'malignantly hurting the dignity' of ruling Kim family
North Korea has sentenced a South Korean Baptist missionary to hard labour for life for allegedly spying and trying to set up underground churches.
He is the latest in a string of missionaries to run into trouble in the rigidly controlled north.
North Korean state media said the missionary was tried on Friday and admitted to anti-North Korean religious acts and "malignantly hurting the dignity" of the country's supreme leadership, a reference to the ruling Kim family.
The rival Koreas have different English spelling styles for Korean names, so the North calls the missionary Kim Jong-uk, but Seoul has previously referred to him as Kim Jung-wook.
Christian missionaries have been drawn over the years to totalitarian North Korea, which tolerates only strictly sanctioned religious services. North Korean defectors have said the distribution of Bibles and secret prayer services can mean banishment to a labor camp or execution.
North Korea said in a dispatch dated Friday but released early on Saturday that Kim had defence counsel, but the details of the trial could not be independently confirmed.

I read an account called “Eyes of the Tailless Animals” by a North Korean Christian woman named Soon Ok Lee who was imprisoned on false charges but was miraculously released after some years and then escaped the country. She wasn’t a Christian until after she made it to South Korea, but she noticed how the Christians were treated the worst but also even sacrificed for others under such conditions, and she marveled at it. The conditions she described were Hell on earth, and often overwhelming to read, and made so much of what we go through in places like the U.S. seem like less than nothing. It makes me think that no human being can endure intense physical suffering without God’s supernatural grace given at the moment of their trial.
The Kim dynasty will fall. Its days are numbered.
Just read the comments on the Guardian. They’re in consensus that he deserved this fate. Britain has become a truly vile little country full of some vile little people. It would be a positive development for that country to be Islamized. What a backwater.

The Devil owns this world and until the Devil is cast forever into the bottomless pit, I am certain that there will be more suffering in that country at the hands of that dynasty.
We need to break our alliance with them and move on to more reliable allies who are less liberal.

I don’t’ consider people classified as ‘subjects’ as a ‘free people.’ I’m also sick of this stupid English holdover we have, getting all fawning about the royal family (if you could call ANY of their actions ‘royal’ or decent) and this so called alliance is mainly having the English look down on us ‘savage’ Americans.
