There were many Christian rock groups before U2. Barry Mcguire had a hit in the sixties called Eve of destruction. Larry Norman was a secular artist who became a Christian and made many Christian rock albums that were well received. There were many others at that time as well like Phil Keaggy, Randy Stonehill, Daniel Amos...and many more.

Very much like the “Pet shop boys”
Great sound, but very gay.
A transition from tradition with guilt and a promotion of uncertainty as the new normal.

Ask Peter. He got it right on the first try.
Awesome, classic!
I had a couple of Phil’s early albums that were more of a psychedelic nature. There is a video on youtube of him performing in the seventies on some tv show. I’ll see if I can find it.
M4L
I found the video I mentioned, along with another. It was from his first band called Glass Harp. Not the best quality or their best work, but it is an interesting time capsule.

One of my favorite Live songs and one of the very few bands that never disappoints in concert.
Nice find and a great interview segment. I’ll watch the whole thing later on. Bono will help a lot of youth come to Christ with this interview.
No thanks.
Thanks -— that was good.
Yes.
