Fred Phelps Sr., the founder of the Kansas church held in disgust worldwide for its antigay protests of prominent funerals, is in hospice care and "on the edge of death," according to one of his estranged sons.
Nate Phelps posted the information on Facebook Saturday night, adding the revelation that his father had been excommunicated from the church in 2013. A church spokesman told the Topeka Capitol-Journal that Phelps was indeed in the hospice but that Nate Phelps "is not well informed." The spokesman also refused to comment on the allegation that the elder Mr. Phelps has been excommunicated.
Another son, Mark Phelps, told the Capitol-Journal that its information on his father's health "is accurate."
Fred Phelps established the Westboro Baptist Church in 1955, and in recent years it has become famous for its position that those killed in America's wars are being punished for the country's lenience toward homosexuals. Members protested military funerals with signs that read, among other things, "God Hates Fags."

Thing is, chances are there’ll be a lot of happy people holding parties and bonfires and I hope that vile church falls apart once he’s dead.
A guy who ran a democrat political/lawyer cult of about 80 people, if he had not named his political group as he did, and had used a name damaging to the left, the media would not have covered him.
I know how bad it should be when I stand before I AM, but I really dont anticipate a fun time for Mr. Phelps.
I mean Jesus will intercede for us if we do what he told us to do, which was to love one another. Pretty damning evidence holding up a sign that literally promotes hate.

I hope one of the mourners assaults one of the protesters, who then sues them into the ground and takes all their money. That is what all their ‘God Hates Fags’ protests against all and sundry have really been about, not any urge to spread the gospel...
Sounds like he may be a nasty man, but is it true that he went after gay people? I thought he was notorious for protesting at military veterans’ funerals.

Phelps is a Democrat, by the way, contrary to claims by liberals that he’s a conservative. In any case, in no way would I celebrate the death of someone, even if it was someone as evil as Obama. Let God be the judge.
He has certainly earned that.
If Fred Phelps Sr. is really at death's door, he needs a doctor to pull him through.

Lord have mercy. This guy is responsible for a lot of ill. In my opinion, his worst crime was naming his cult as a “church,” thus giving those who hate Christ the opportunity to go “see see see, hateful Christians!” when in reality WB is neither a church nor Christian.
To the best of my knowledge, the protests at military funerals are to state that soldiers, Marines and sailors who are killed are not heroes because they died while belonging to organizations that allow homosexuals.
