I wonder if Vatican City could have their own Olympic team??? It might be fun to see, but if they get anything less than a gold we would never hear the end of it.

They hold a crucifix and one decade of the rosary - i.e. - 1 Our Father and 10 Hail Mary prayers.

Thank you, and the purpose is to...? The purpose is to pray - entrusting one's life and, in this situation - performance, to the loving hands of God. May God's will be done!

I wonder if Vatican City could have their own Olympic team?I had the same thought. It seems that citizenship is not always a requirement to compete for a country anymore.

I know a bunch of countries will let you buy your way in to their Olympic team.
There’s a rich hedge fund XC skiing guy from the US and his Italian wife on the Dominica team.

Many people pray without a ring. Is the ring a token, reminder or is the ring manipulated in some way when prayers are said. Is it traditionally worn on a certain finger? I'm not trying to be difficult, I really am interested as I have never heard of a rosery ring before.

I'm not trying to be difficult, I really am interested as I have never heard of a rosery ring before. The ring is not an important element of prayer; rather, it serves as a guide. I don't wear a rosary ring; I have ten fingers that serve me just fine. While walking, or at the dentist, or waiting in line at the grocery store, I spend that time in prayer - for the dental technician and family, for the checkout individual and family, for family - living and deceased, for friends, for strangers on the street, for those unknown to me in need of prayer, etc. The ring serves simply as a reminder.
Of course your ongoing questions raise some for me - how do you pray, for whom and how often do you pray? Do you pray for strangers that pass you on the street? What is the purpose of your prayers?

There is a group of olympic athletes that do not represent a country which has been a part of recent olympics.
