TMLC: Phil Robertson’s View on Homosexuality Reflects the Catholic Church’s Teachings

With all of the filth that can be seen on television and in movies these days, the mainstream media has made it increasingly clear that there is only one thing for which there is no place: Christianity and the Bible’s teachings on homosexuality.

Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Robertson Family from A&E’s wildly popular show Duck Dynasty, is learning the hard way about the mainstream media’s sacred ground – homosexuality. Despite being a self-proclaimed “Bible-thumper” and a non-negotiable on the prominent role that faith and religion play in the Robertson Family’s life, Phil was recently “suspended indefinitely” from the show for remarks he made in a GQ Magazine profile in which he, among other things, discussed his opinions on the immorality of homosexuality.

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center commented:

“What Phil Robertson said about homosexuality as an Evangelical Christian in his GQ interview, reflects the teaching of the Catholic Church, and the viewpoint of a vast majority of Americans. A & E willingly capitulated to the intimidation tactics of the militant homosexuals. Remaining silent in this circumstance of religious intolerance merely emboldens militant homosexuals. Christians must mobilize and respond with the same zeal and vigor as these homosexuals.”

The discussion on homosexuality begins after this line from Robertson,

“Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong,” he says. “Sin becomes fine.”

Maybe A&E will suspend the Pope from its programs. Sorta like the Double-secret probation type of thing.

He reflects the teachings of the Church, but not many of it’s members. A bit schizophrenic there.

Some of our American bishops would do well to reinforce the teachings of the church as effectively as Phil Robertson has”.

Especially Pelosi’s bishop. But, there must be too much money and prestige for him lose in quoting what the bible really says about homosexuality. But, scripture also says for us to love them as well and they can’t understand the concept. Hate is part of the homosexual and liberal culture - they can understand not hating someone who disagrees with you.

His view on homosexuality reflects the majority of the Christian world, the Jewish world, and Islam. Those account for the vast majority of people in the world.

Even in Russia, those acts are against the law.

I don’t wish to see individual sinners be persecuted. But I do believe that the act is a sin. And so do most people in the world.

Spare me from this crap. The catholic church has been rife with homos and pedophiles for centuries. The church's "teachings" amount to weak-as-dishwater finger-wagging accompanied by a sly wink.

Phil Robertson doesn't just espouse God's Word - he actually believes it. That's something the catholic church hasn't done since its inception.

Can you please take down this posting. I refuse to have it to turn into another Catholic-bashing.

What I REALLY think is an issue here is....that Phil Robertson dared to say what the homo’s physically do....no one wants to admit or talk about THAT.....when in reality that is PERVERSION....and dirty....and disease causing...he just made it a bit more visual with his words...”gay” just doesn’t cover it!

The Church’s living members don’t make policy and, in fact, are NOT considered “The Church,” a fact far too many post Vat II Catholics fail to acknowledge. The Church’s teaching on homosexuality (and abortion, Miz. Pelosi!) IS and will remain MONOLITHIC.

He spoke God’s truth, plainly and clearly. Perhaps a bit coarsely too, but that appears to at times be necessary.

Is speaking candidly speaking “coarsely?” Homos are never accused of speaking coarsely, incidentally.

Agreed. I am not Catholic, (and I don’t really know to much about the Catholic religion), but I have noticed more of the Catholic bashing stuff going on the last couple of years here. Any ideas why? I sure as heck don’t have any.

“His view on homosexuality reflects the majority of the Christian world, the Jewish world, and Islam”

Only Orthodox Jews are against same-sex “marriage”. Most American jews could care less, and many rabbis have performed
sodomite “marriages”.

So tell me what Bible are these Jews reading? Certainly not their own Bible.

Comes mostly from guilt-ridden ex-Catholics that are constantly trying to justify leaving the faith.
