October 17, 2013. (Romereports.com) Surrounded by Swiss Guards, the president of the State of Palestine, walked inside the Vatican's Apostolic Palace. The cameras started flickering away when Mahmoud Abbas walked in. With the help of a translator, he introduced himself to Pope Francis.
MAHMOUD ABBAS
President, State of Palestine
“I'm very happy to meet you for the very first time Your Holiness. I'm honored to be here at the Vatican.”
POPE FRANCIS
“I feel honored. I hope you feel at home.”
Their meeting lasted about 30 minutes. Their conversations included some laughs. But they also talked about more serious matters, like the violent tension between Israel and Palestine and the challenges Christians face in that region, as a marginalized minority.
The Pope then highlighted that Israelis, Palestinians and the international community must make courageous decisions to actually achieve peace. Now that negotiations between Israel and Palestine are back on the table, hope for peace was directly implied when the Pope exchanged gifts with Abbas.
POPE FRANCIS
“As a gift, here's a pen. I'm sure you have plenty of documents to sign.”
MAHMOUD ABBAS
President, State of Palestine
“I hope to use this pen to sign a peace accord with Israel. Let's hope.”
POPE FRANCIS
Yes, Soon!
The gifts included a tiled image of Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity with the words 'City of Peace.' The Pope was also given the first Bible to be published in Palestine.
Despite the fact that it was their first official greeting, the Pope told the president some moving words as their meeting came to a close.
POPE FRANICS
“When a man of peace comes to visit, he brings us God's blessing.”
Even though it's not official yet, in the past, Pope Francis has said he'd like to visit the Holy Land next year.

I believe this peace-loving leader when he claims to want peace with Israel as much as I believe our own Dear Leader when he claims to be willing to negotiate in good faith with the GOP as soon as the government is funded for next year and the debt ceiling is lifted. I also believe both men deserve the titles they claim to hold, I believe there is no fat left to cut from the federal budget, and I believe in the Easter Bunny.

Unfortunately there will never be a peace signed between Israel and the Palestinians until there is a radical change in the the “Palestianian governments” who are filled with those whose goal is the total elimination of Israel and its people, or there is a genuine miracle to change the Palestinian outlook.

Actually, it ends just fine. It's that second to last chapter that is a bit hairy.

the damned terrorists can occasionally talk a nice talk, in order to collect a few more billion dollars from the chief of their flock in WashDC (such bs speeches give Muslim Brother No. 1 “political cover” to keep shelling out our dough to all these IslamoNazi murderers”
but he can go to Hell with all the money he’s stealing from us

I believe that columnist knows what he’s talking about. He has a book coming out soon titled “The Vatican Against Israel”
Ever notice how a whole lot of Catholics and non-evangelicals always use the term “holy land” but never refer to the State of Israel?

"Francis had indicated in July he would visit Israel in 2014 to mark the 50th anniversary of Pope Paul VIs visit to Jerusalem in 1964, which took place before the Vatican recognized the State of Israel. The government of Israel granted me a unique opportunity to come to Jerusalem, Francis said at the time."The visit would mark Franciss second to the Holy Land. He visited in 1973, arriving just as the Yom Kippur War broke out. As The Times of Israel revealed in April, Jorge Mario Bergoglio (as he was known then) spent six days confined to his Jerusalem hotel, studying the Letters of Saint Paul to the Corinthians."
2014 shaping up to be a banner year.

I wonder what the time frame is for the peace treaty. How many years they are going to agree to sign for.
This could get really interesting really fast.
