Sodomites have-and do- prevent many from going into the priesthood-but-since homosexual marriage is legal and celebrated now, allowing married priests will introduce the spectacle of homosexual priests marrying too! What about that?
Men who prefer men/boys aren’t going to suddenly desire female to satisfy their urges. I have no problem with married heterosexual priests, but the idea of homosexual married priests is abominable. It’s not about marriage- it’s about homosexuality being against the laws of God and the Church, period!
This has absolutely zero to do with allowing priests to marry. I know this man personally and attended church where he served. He was an alcoholic and a very disturbed individual. He had been on leave many times. The parishioners feel devastated and betrayed. What disturbs me most about this whole story is that there are pedophiles in very walk of life. But yet as soon as the media finds out that in this case it is a catholic priest...it is instant national news. Once again the entire priesthood will be painted with a broad brush because of the actions of one disturbed individual. More fodder to feed anti catholic bigotry.

The problem was letting the sodomites into the priesthood. Before the demoralization of the priesthood after 1968, the seminaries were murder on seminarians who came because they liked to be with the boys, and even those who made it through to ordination were secretly laicized in greater numbers than we used to hear about. Then in the ‘70s, with vocations crashing, the bishops were keeping the scrubs and the losers. So we got the Hollow priesthood and that did not begin to change until the late ‘80s’ and even then not everywhere.
Because no Baptist minister or Jewish rabbi has ever, ever been caught doing anything like this. /s
