Putin is doing what too many have been afraid to do. Take this fool on with full force. We have an embarrassment in the White House, but our media and uniformed voters are doing their best to ignore it. We essentially have the emperor with no clothes for the next 3.5 years.

I think he was jabbing
Obama, not the U.S.

Extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional????

He's referring to OBAMA the Great and Obama worshipers

I believe we ARE an exceptional nation, but that does NOT give us the right or responsibility to attack other nations as we are seeking to do now.

Obama DOES NOT believe in American exceptionalism. He detests America.

Odumbo thinks amerika is exceptional, just like everyone else...I did not hear him say he thinks we are an exceptional nation — If he said it, he didn’t believe it and was only giving lip service to the concerned that paused long enough to listen to his drivel.

I think this is a sly Putin dig at Obama who spent his first term traveling the world apologizing for America and assuring everyone that under HIS leadership we would be humble respectful and on the same level as everyone else

Like Kim Jong Un and Ahmadinejad - and Bashir al Assad - for example

Vlad, the US citizens are exceptional. Obama is NOT.

You knew that, but did not say it correctly.

Whole lot of happy horse manure in the heading.
The reality of American Exceptionalism is based on freedom from oppressive, tyrannical government and in that regard Putin's take misses the point. God may have created us equal, but he blessed some of us more than others by where we were born.
Moreover, Obama is intellectually incapable of comprehending American Exceptionalism.

I have to disagree with Putin. American exceptionalism is a fact borne out of significant qualititative differences that set apart American from virtually any other (modern) nation, and goes back in history to the point where the most recent example of similar exceptionalism would be the Roman Empire many centuries back. That is a fact that is clear as crystal, even to a non-American like myself.

However, what is also worthy of note is that American exceptionalism is not a birth right. It is as a result of continued adherence to the belief that freedom and liberty, individual and human rights, the pursuit of happiness, individualism, republicanism (no, not the party, but rather the tenets upheld in the Constitution), capitalism, etc, are firm foundations that have to be upheld in the nation. It is more of an inheritance rather than a birthright, and successive generations of Americans have to work at it in order to maintain (and enhance) American exceptionalism.

Move away from those tenets and it can be lost. Additionally, it is possible for other nations to achieve something similar (not necessarily the same, but of similar kind) if they espouse those tenets.

Thus, Putin is wrong. However, that doesn't mean he will ALWAYS be wrong. That decision is upon the American people and the leaders they elect and select to chart their way forward.

Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich,

AS a fellow Cold War survivor, there is something, eh, amiss, in your statement, ‘that God made us all equal’, I think.

Were you not the man in command of the KGB, the, eh, other great secret service in the world, for so many years, yes?

Would I be wrong to ask you to remember, that in being this, eh, equal, that all your border enforcement placements, were designed, for the personnel to be firing their weapons, towards the inside of the borders, and the people of the CCCP?

Teryens Kenyetovich.

Putin made some valid points, but was also a bit off-kilter in some of his understanding of America. All in all, I’m just pleased he slapped the snot out of Obama. I hope he keeps it up. Again and again. Slap the Kenyan POS silly. I’ll give Putin a big thumbs-up. Especially compared to the cowering and capitulating GOP, which has been entirely absent as an “opposition” party.

As for American exceptionalism... an America that now supports al-Qaeda terrorists? an America that is embracing the deviancy of homo marriage? an America that puts forth a culture symbolized by Miley Cyrus slut-dancing? an America whose populace is over fifty-percent dependent on government? an America that elects a piece of Marxist filth like Obama? No, America is hardly exceptional anymore. It’s a disgusting, vomitous shadow of its former greatness.

Have to disagree with Mr Putin there. I don’t think hussein believes America is exceptional. Maybe exceptionally bad/wrong in his eyes, he certainly has been trying to change it. While I agree we are all created equal (though with different innate talents) I believe America is exceptional in our freedoms and liberty. Though we are currently far less-so than we were a few years ago due in large part to rampant liberal fascism.

Putin leads off his editorial by stating that the United Nations is in danger of extinction if the United States does not consult with and abide by it’s decisions on Syria.

Finally someone has provided a reason to bomb Damascus.

The kenyan Fuehrer IS exceptional, no doubt about it.

He is an exceptional ass.
He is an exceptional POS.
He is an exceptional enemy to the Constitution.
He is an exceptional liar.
...fill in the rest, the list is long.
