The New England Patriots have released quarterback Tim Tebow, according to an ESPN report, however, Tebow assured earlier this week that because of his faith he didn't "have to worry about the future."
With quarterback Ryan Mallett's position as backup to franchise player Tom Brady already secure, Tebow's position on the team had been tentative throughout the preseason.
In the Patriots' final preseason game against the New York Giants on Thursday night, Tebow threw two touchdown passes and one interception.
After the game, Tebow told reporters his faith helped the anxiety he may have otherwise felt about his football future.
"I'm blessed, because of my faith, that I don't have to worry about the future because I know who holds my future," Tebow told reporters. "It's something I try to live by. It really gives you a lot of peace in whatever circumstance I'm in."
That same day he tweeted a picture of the text of Psalm 62:5-7 that reads, "Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God. he is my mighty rock, my refuge."
Although Tebow's late-season contributions helped the Denver Broncos reach the playoffs in 2011, he was unable to find consistent playing time with the New York Jets last year and was ultimately released by them before joining with the Patriots in June.
Despite the presence of Patriots' offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels, who coached Tebow during his tenure on the Broncos, the quarterback found it difficult to make a breakthrough during the preseason. In three appearances, Tebow only completed 11-of-30 passes, picking up just 145 yards, with a pair of touchdowns and two picks.
Wish him the best!
May G-d Bless him.
Too bad he sucked at the NFL!
His career should be in motivational speaking and even politics, but not football. Sorry.
He is NOT QB material. Become a TE or FB, Tebow.
He’ll find his way onto a team some time this season, he would make for a great scout team QB and maybe even sell some tickets on a struggling team with QB issues.
Gun Tweet of the Day: NFL Fines Jets QB for Finger Gun Celebration

The NFL launched a preemptive strike against playful celebration gestures and fined the New York Jets Matt Simms for pretending his hands were guns,
bleacherreport.com reports.
The website got the heads-up from Newsday sports writer Kimberly A. Martins Twitter feed. One wonders what impact a $7875 fine will have on a player pulling down $405,000 per year plus, plus, plus. Some. But the NFLs continued insistence that finger guns are verboten is the worst kind of PC pandering. Meanwhile, wheres the video or pic? Strange that the internets is bereft of Simms ballistic finger ballet. Or is it?

I don’t fully understand the nuances of why he is not cutting it as a NFL quarterback.
But I do know he has been following his dream and has or is giving it a heck of a shot. For that, kudos young man! When you are old and gray like me, you will have that pride in knowing that.
There’s more to life than football. Tebow knows it.
He needs to go where professional teams play his style of football....Canada. He’d make a great living (not NFL money) but millions none the less for several years
Tebow should leave the filthy NFL. If he claims to be a
Christian he should get out that pagan un-Christian organization.
maybe if he had some gang tats, a drug habit, and beat up some women, the NFL would like him more.
Pastor Telbow will have a huge church and following some day if he wishes.
Perhaps a team like ‘Dallas Cowboys’ will pick him up. He would be a good influence on the Jerry Jones players. He has a good attraction on his (Tebow’s) own. Romo needs a strong back up or competition for the position. MO
I vote for Dallas to pick up Tebow.
Jerry doesn’t take kindly to being upstaged.
Sometimes, thing happen for a reason. Tebow reached the NFL and had achievements. He got some time with the Patriots. He leaves now and has his health, a dream fullfilled, and leaving as a shining example of living by ones ideals.
I wish him the best of everything.
He’ll be fine.
Why not the Steelers for Tebow? Big Ben needs a good backup and in some ways at QB their style is a bit similar.
Also Houston Texans can take a chance with him as a backup. Schaub is 32 and may have a narrow window to succeed. Tebow can be at least a servicable backup QB if given a proper chance somewhere. Stupid Jets still need a QB too,
