I read the Bible myself, but I would like to know, what exactly is a progressive faith leader?
It would be interesting to hear this "Faith Leader," debate with any real Godly man. But in the meanwhile, he will doubtless continue to get encouraging publicity, so long as he mouths the same hateful rant as do so many in the mainstream media.

God is not progressive. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Lord decides what is sin and what is righteousness.
A real Christian, if he believed that Zimmerman had sinned, would have called him to confession and repentance. This would have shown true Christian love and forgiveness as there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.
Instead, Wallis uses the jargon of phony "progressive" faith to beat Zimmerman rhetorically. This is truly a sin before God.
Wallis is acting like a Pharisee and should himself confess and repent.
Progressive faith leader, talk about Christian extremists trying to shove their morality down our throats. IMO they are just as phony as the Westboro Baptist Church.

Jim Wallis - the scripture speaks often of establishing the truth of an accusation by the word of two or three witnesses. Please produce your witnesses regarding your accusation of racial profiling - or stop accusing anybody else of sin.
Oh - and remember what the scripture says about bearing false witness.

If a car with 4 young white guys inside is in the hood, driving around slowly on a Friday night, will they get pulled over or at least watched? In 1986 I was at the Canadian border, ironically at St. Stephen. The driver and I were both in our 20s and had long hair. He had Dead stickers on his car. We were waved over and searched. I was released, but my friend spent a few months in Canadian jail. We were obviously profiled.

A young black man would be 100% safer walking through my neighborhood at night than a young white man would be walking through Shipley Terrace in DC in broad daylight.

In Wallis’s cockeyed world, abortion is not a sin but “racial profiling” is.
Probably so, because he wouldn't have been indoctrinated into a thug culture that demanded he go after the "cracker." Of course, had be been white, he still could certainly have been a complete jackass and been just as stupid, but he wouldn't have had an entire culture based on his skin color egging him on.
