The EU is a bad idea. Each individual country has its culture and language, and should not be interfered with. It had a chance if it would have remained a free trade zone with very minimal regulations to harmonize commerce. Instead it became the biggest collection of pointless busybodies that side of Washington DC. Any organization which has time to regulate the straightness of bananas and cucumbers needs to be dissolved (preferably in strong solution of sodium hydroxide).
