Not by might nor by power,
but by my Spirit,
says the LORD Almighty.

At the start of World War Two
Hitler tried to break England
during the The Battle of Britain.
Though the mighty Nazi juggernaut
was rolling up the map of Europe,
in the end, Hitler did not prevail.
Please feel free to check out the clip below

Their Finest Hour

During epic clashes with evil, evil so often seems to triumph. But during such times Christian leaders, like Winston Churchill, have rallied their countrymen with moral clarity as the full fury of the enemy has tried to break them. And in the end, the enemy did not prevail and good triumphed over evil.
Today, the war for our souls rages furiously on many fronts. And the battle lines seem blurred by moral ambiguity. May God raise up leaders with conviction, courage, and moral clairty - like Winston Churchill. May we understand we are fighting for the survival of Christian civilization and our American way of life. May we understand the consequences of defeat not only for America, but for the rest of the world.
As Churchill so succinctly put it: the cost of failure - all that we know and care for will sink into the abyss of a new dark age made more sinister and perhaps more protracted by the lights of perverted science. How much more true is that threat for 2013 as it was in 1940!
Heavenly Father, protect our brave men and women, home and abroad, who put themselves in harms way to defend our freedoms. May all Gods people have the moral stamina, courage, and power of the Holy Spirit to fight this battle and never, never give up. May God give us the Victory through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And through Him, may this be our finest hour.
In Jesus Name,
Amen

Prayers up for America during this crucial time!
In his very first Little League baseball game, a young player on the team I was coaching got hit in the face with a ball. He was not hurt but was understandably shaken. For the rest of the season, he was afraid of the ball. Game after game, he bravely tried, but he just couldnt seem to hit the ball.
In our final game, we were hopelessly behind, with nothing to cheer about. Then that young man stepped up to take his turn. Thwack! To everyones surprise, he hit the ball sharply! His teammates went wild; his parents and his teammates parents cheered loudly. Even though we were still losing the game, I was jumping up and down! We all loved this kid and cheered him on.
I imagine that the Lord cheers us on in our lives as well. He loves us deeply and desires that we may be able to comprehend . . . what is the width and length and depth and heightto know the love of Christ which passes knowledge (Eph. 3:18-19).
Some think of the Lord as unloving and waiting for us to slip up so He can punish us. So we have the privilege of telling them of His deep love for them. Imagine their joy when they hear about the God who loves them so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for their sin and who wants to cheer them on!
Read: Ephesians 3:14-21
Amen. Thank you NEWwoman for that inspired prayer.
National Day of Prayer for the military (changed into prayer)
Heavenly Father,
We pray divine protection and guidance for the courageous troops who are actively serving our country each day not only at bases around the world, but also here within our borders. Our soldiers daily place themselves in harms way in order to defend the way of life we hold dear. Be with their families also. Please keep them all safe, meet all their needs and bless them abundantly. Help each one of them as they endure long separations, frequent moves and other challenges.
As the heroic men and women in our armed services secure our liberty both at home and abroad, we pray Your protection will go before them. We also pray for the chaplains stationed around the world, along with the Christian servicemen who unofficially fulfill a role of spiritual leadership. May these believers faithfully represent Christ among their comrades-in-arms.
Comfort the families of those who have lost a loved one and have paid the ultimate price in battle.
Father, we pray that our medias accounts of U.S. military actions are relayed fairly and impartially. Our troops are deserving of their fellow Americans gratitude and respect, and accurate reporting can play an important role in rallying the American people around our brave servicemen.
In Jesus name we pray. Amen
Then he set military captains over the people, gathered them together to him in the open square of the city gate, and gave them encouragement, saying, Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles. And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
II Chronicles 32:6-8
Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me!
For my soul trusts in You;
And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge,
Until these calamities have passed by.
Psalm 57:1
Deliver me from my enemies, O my God;
Defend me from those who rise up against me.
Psalm 59:1
He guards the paths of justice,
And preserves the way of His saints.
Proverbs 2:8
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name
Be joyful in You.
Psalm 5:11

Dear NEWwoman, thank you for this most informative post and most powerful prayer...as I read this, I am listening to the bugle play taps while Prince Henry is visiting our nation and honoring our fallen heroes. Dear LORD, we thank YOU for all those who stand with our Country and stand in Honor of our Heroes. I pray for all our allies that know the sorrows and joys of freedom. I pray for the families whose hearts ache for those they miss. OH LORD...IN CHRIST, there are no good-byes, and we pray so deeply for the souls of each and every single soldier that HONORS this America...ONE NATION UNDER GOD..may the Banner of YOUR SALVATION fly along side the Banner of this Country..to the GLORY OF YOUR NAME..and the good of their souls.
