I must defend Cardinal Dolan here. He is speaking of love for one’s brother. Do not confuse the sinner with the sin.
I know too many good, good people who struggle with their sexuality.
I believe he is appealing to the individual, not the lobby.
We all struggle with sin. The Church offers forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation and no one is sent away.
Sounds like, "Don't confuse the murderer with the murder."
