Cardinal Sean OMalley said he and the worlds other cardinals are still trying to learn more about their colleagues before choosing Pope Benedict XVIs successor, he told reporters in Rome today.
Youre faced with a number of choices, but I dont think any of us have gone in saying, This is who I would vote for, OMalley said at a press conference. We are still in a process of discernment and prayer and trying to learn more.
We all recognize their talent and their goodness and competence.

There is a saying in Rome: “He who enters the conclave as a possible pope comes out a cardinal.”

I think it’s going to be Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan from California. Bet on it.

Photo of Dolan. He is also fighting 0bama on the contraceptive mandate of 0bamacare. From what I've read, he is a good man and would be a great Pope!:

Think again.

This is reason enough why I don't want Dolan.

Isn't it a given that Popes want guns off the streets? Thanks for the link though.. He at least is standing up for Catholicism and fighting against the mandate. I do have a feeling he is going to be the next Pope, I am sticking to that prediction, ideal or not.
To: Obama_Is_Sabotaging_America
He is the Archbishop of New York, not California. He was Archbishop of Milwaukee.
Good, but no Raymond Cardinal Burke!
To: SpirituTuo
Indeed. Sorry about that.
To: Obama_Is_Sabotaging_America
No problem. I certainly don’t know who its going to be, mostly because the College is overwhelmingly European, Italian, specifically.
Ultimately, only God knows, and he isn’t telling.

I seriously doubt an American cardinal will be chosen for Pope anytime in the near future. A society that elevates the likes of Barack Obama to near godlike status isn’t exactly a paragon of spiritual vitality.

The only good thing I see right now with the elevating of Barack Obama to a “godlike” status is that it is taking folks like a Bob Woodward to try “lesson” that so-called status with challenging it.

Although Cardinal Tagle is only 55 and most likely too young to be considered, he sure has tons of charisma. I noticed today that he was the only cardinal (that I saw) that BXVI "initiated" conversation with when the cardinals were all (one-by-one) greeting and saying goodbye to BXVI. Cardinal Tagle, however, has a full series on YouTube of the "Highlights of Vatican II," which might signal the TLM wouldn't be emphasized during his reign, but read about him at this link if you like. There are many positive qualities that surround him.

Do not be surprised if a “global south” cardinal gets elected. It remains to be seen.

With a number of conservative cardinals appointed by B16, bank on a conservative.

I’m going out on a limb.. Just a hunch.
To: Obama_Is_Sabotaging_America
It won't be Cdl. Dolan, or any other American. My guesses are Bagnasco, Scola (Italy), Ouellet (Canada), Ranjith (Sri Lanka), or Cañizares-Llovera (Spain).
