The prophecies of Saint Malachy end like this:
In the persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock among many tribulations after which the seven hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people.
Saint Malachy’s ‘prophecies’ are considered fakes by the Catholic church.
On the internet, they keep evolving and evolving to fit the current story just like Nostradamus’ prophecies. Most of the ‘prophecies’ were just one liners that you can read anything into if you wish.
maybe the Pope is resigning due to some omen about his Dove of Peace being attacked back in January.
Popes, like US Supreme Court Justices, just don’t resign.
You've got to be kidding.
"Is the Pope's hat actually funny, or is it just ironic?"
“Popes... just don’t resign”
Actually, there has been five resignations of Popes. One.. St. Celestine V.. who resigned voluntarily. Thus, it isn’t done usually; however, it has been done before. Think of it as “old school” if you wish since it was in 1294.
Pope's dove of peace almost ends in pieces: Seagull attacks bird
Didn’t a previous Pope Benedict have a vision about himself or a namesake (turned out to not be himself, obviously) who would be struck down.
As a kid I remember watching a episode of Unsolved Mysteries about three or four Italian girls who saw a vision of Mary on a hill and she told them about the end of the world. Anyone know the story?
St. Malachy's prophecy, misread?

Was Benedict also called, “the glory of the olives?”
Taken as “Glory of the Olivetans” (group within Benedictans) makes perfect sense.
Well, obviously, thing about prophecies is, they either happen or they don’t.
If I didn't know better I'd think it was a perfect example of how most non-Catholic folks just grab whatever is convenient. Like grabbing, “Christian Liberty” to hide the fact that they don't say a word about the vast majority of abortions which are cause by abortaficiant contraceptives.
I guess if such folks can ignore reversing themselves on four hundred years of teaching that contraception is a sin (which has led to at least 120 million abortions by contraceptive since “the pill”), reversing what they preach with regard to Catholics not ever being right is small patatos.
Obviously, if it furthers the anti-Catholic agenda and sells "Surrender & Evacuate" books, reversals are Ok.
Every Catholic does. It was the miracle at Fatima.
1. The prophecies of St. Malachy were only “discovered” 500 years after St. Malachy lived.
2. The prophecy of Peter the Roman was added, probably hundreds of years later, in a seperate hand.
3. There’s nothing to say that hundreds of popes don’t exist between the Glory of the Olives and Peter the Roman.
The prophecies at Fatima were seen by two girls and one boy. They dealt in great deal with World War II, the rise of Russia, and a great decline in the faithfulness of the Catholic church, but not with the end of the world. Fatima is in Portugal, not Italy, and not on a hillside.
None of the 13 apparitions approved globally fits this description, but there are many which have not been approved globally, but which aren’t necessarily demonic or fraudulent, including such famous ones as Medjugorgje (which predicted the fall of Russia) and Rwanda (which predicted the horrific slaughter).
The more important question would be, when on earth are we going to see an end to the end of the world prophecies?
If the end were so easy to see, maybe one with that much vision could have saved the world from so much pain and suffering!
Even so, I find the descriptions of many of them with a strong grain to them. lets say they WERE “found” in the 1700’s....someone still made some uncanny “predictions”.
As for #3, since the other Popes follow sequentially, why would one not expect that of Benedict and Peter the Roman?

The wording suggests a break in the flow between Glory of the Olives and Peter the Roman; it doesn’t mean they won’t follow sequentially, but the break means that there’s no reason to suggest the sequential flow continues, either.
