How many divorces, adulteries and abortions are committed by Christians and tolerated among the congregations? How much filth and adopted filth has the church permitted their people to watch and wallow in? Even to the point of co-opting parts of it to attract numbers to fill their pews and donation baskets?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.... you just keep piling the bubblegum churches in the truly faithful ones and tell me how many of them have to become faithful before God grants repentance for the sake of the faithful Church.

Meanwhile, you can continue to congratulate yourself for challenging those who will not give you that much grief or discomfort.

You're nothing but the right-wing version of the "brave" activist who "stands up" for global warming, women's rights, gay rights, and racial justice.

I will agree with you that the entity responsible for losing the culture is the Church, but it's not because they suddenly got corrupt; it's because, like the Pro-Life Movement, they refused to recognize their enemies carefully developed strategies and built barriers against their influence, but they insist on using the same obsolete tactics and failed doctrines the "world" built specific defenses against! Then when they see they're losing, they say to themselves "we just aren't doing it hard enough" or "It's our own sinfulness that's preventing God from giving us the victory."

In short, people like you are taking the soft, easy way...you'd rather bury your "talent" by haranguing the Church instead of "risking" any of it by tangling with "the world."

If you want to preach "holiness," by all means, go for it. That is an admirable aspiration. But I'll guarantee you one thing, the Eastern Church did not fall to, and the Western Church did not survive the onslaught of islam, because one was holier than the other.

I submit God has a much bigger agenda for his people than just refraining from sin, and failure to discover, develop, and execute, that agenda not only robs people of his grace, but will end with "even what he has will be taken from him"

Thanks for illustrating yourself as no different than the rabid militant Secularists. I have scripture and the writings and speeches of the Founding Fathers who were beholden to scripture to back up every and all admonitions and exhortations I make, and they are the same ones Cahn made.

That you belittle, marginalize and show your disdain for those giving these warnings reveals either your own ignorance of the scriptures and the need for the watchmen to admonish this people, or your own aversion to the truth that is preached in those regards.

As to my own personal 'stand' of risk by doing Matthew 28:19-20 and engaging true pagans who never heard of Christ - I spent the first half of last year living in the slums of rural SouthEast India to serve brethren there. If that is 'soft' to you - then praytell what have you done to fulfill the Commission that you consider to be 'hard'?

It is God's people in this wayward nation that the warning message of the need for repentance is targeted, PRECISELY because scripture is consistent with that message. Judgment begins on God's House and His People first - long before the rest of the nation is judged. What I will say is that it will more tolerable in the Day of Judgment for India, than for this nation.

Do not make this thread "about" individual Freepers. That is also a form of "making it personal."

Discuss the issues but do not make it personal.

OR...because like the priests of Baal, they are being mocked for their adherence to doctrines that are so OBVIOUSLY ineffectual.

Do you think the Pharisees and Sadducees had no Scripture to point to for their every accusation?

As I said before, the problem isn't "pagan's who never heard of Christ," and I do honor your commitment and service in that regard. I'm talking about those who HAVE heard of Christ, and are in active opposition to "The Way."

And in every case where those opponents have been effective in their opposition, it has been because they were able to seize the moral high ground AWAY from the people of faith! In response, those who speak for the "sheep" have only "bleated."

Oh, those shepherds can produce all manner of sound and fury when lording over the sheep, but when it comes to the wolves it seems the pat response is to redouble their "ministrations" to the SHEEP!

I submit to you there are more than enough faithful "sheep" in this land. What we lack is faithful shepherds.

They go about building their own comfortable little kingdoms, further dividing the flock, proudly proclaiming THEIR devotion to Scripture, and only rarely venturing past the borders of their little pasture.

Tell me, who among the people of faith are actually actively trying to JOIN these divided flocks?
