Choose this day America who you shall serve; the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or the god of darkness and sin! As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord!

PROVERBS 6:15-19
15 Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy. 16 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue,

hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

I blogged on this yesterday.

Here’s what I opined:

As a Watchman on the Wall, he is warning America from the pages of scripture of our national sins that will soon condemn us to judgment.

Our first clear warning for our nation to repent was the removal of God’s Hedge of Protection, and America’s repentance was short lived. Two years after 9-11, America and her courts were removing God’s Commandments from courthouses and public spaces. Since then, God and Jesus Christ are ridiculed, scorned, mocked and His followers called ‘intolerant’, ‘bigots’ and worse by a growing segment of this nation’s civil and cultural leadership.

The warning given here in this message is one many servants of God have been proclaiming of late. But even His Churches have become lukewarm and salt-less, ignoring the warnings and messages. Instead they find solace in a gospel of wealth and prosperity they have constructed for themselves, recreating Jesus into an image that fits the decadence and self-absorbed culture

Youtube has been busy removing this video as offensive almost as soon as it is uploaded. The warning of truth is considered offensive to this generation and efforts to marginalize and silence those whom God has anointed for that work would suffer the same fate as Ancient Israel’s prophets of God should this people be empowered to do so.

This message is powerful. Bold. Illustrating biblical prophesy and the parallels our nation is facing.

Pastor Cahn shared these words of Abraham Lincoln, “And whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God … and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.” My eyes filled with tears. How I long for a leader of our country to speak such words now.

Unfortunately, as with much of American Churchianity – this event was attended only by like minded brethren and has already been afforded its contempt in mass media coverage while the masses gathered to praise Obama as sovereign and lift their prayers to … apparently the spirits of our ancestors.

Jesus said, “He who has ears, let him hear!”

America is not heeding the warning, neither are most churches willing to hear or preach this message.

In fact, during this impassioned message as you watch, especially near the end, watch men in ties and suits and women walking around the stage behind and in front TALKING while Pastor Cahn is still passionately preaching. The amount of DISRESPECT for one giving such a message is even self evident among those attending a prayer breakfast. They were not listening – they were busy talking to one another – a HUGE amount of disrespect to the Word of God being expounded upon by those people I am sure think highly of themselves because they attended.

In a way, that is a microcosm of the church itself in America. Some applaud the message of warning and repentance, and most of those are in the seats in the back and out amongst the gathered. Meanwhile, the leaders, the pastors and organizers – are busy squawking among themselves, disdaining the message, and nary even paying attention to the dire warning and call that IS THEIR CHARGE TO GIVE TO THEIR FLOCKS.

But they are not heeding, nor even listening. They are mostly about their own agendas, ministries and efforts - few of which are even related to Matthew 28:19-20, or equipping the Saints to actually go out and do that Commission.

Lord help those of us with ears to hear, and through HIS Spirit – MOVE in action to DO what needs to be done among a wayward people in an age of evil.

Thank you so much for sharing your blogpost. This sermon was as good as Johnathan Edwards’ “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”. It SHOULD have started a major revival and maybe still will.

Unfortunately, most people only have “itching ears” and will only hear what they want to hear.

Verses 12-14 put verses 15-19 in context. The point being that it describes Obama to a 'T'.

(The Wicked Man)

12 A worthless person, a wicked man,
Walks with a perverse mouth;
13 He winks with his eyes,
He shuffles his feet,
He points with his fingers;
14 Perversity is in his heart,
He devises evil continually,
He sows discord.
15 Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; Suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.
16 These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

I am getting really tired of "Christian Commentators" that keep whinging about how "corrupt" the Church has become, instead of taking their "message" to the truly corrupt pagans!

As far as I'm concerned, you're cut from the same cloth as politicians that want to show how tough they are on crime by making more laws that will be ignored by everyone EXCEPT the folks who weren't breaking any of the old laws in the first place (cf. gun control)

Don't sit there and preen about the "shallow" people of faith who aspire to lead quiet lives in reasonable comfort, until you're prepared, willing, and able, to indict the truly corrupt, truly wicked, and truly socially corrosive.

The people of faith already KNOW they don't live up to divine standards; they're not nearly the problem of the rest of society that is getting progressively better at calling good, evil, and calling light, darkness.

Excuse you - but your reply is NONSENSE.

Judgment BEGINS at the House of God. In accord with the scriptures AND the Founders, the culture of this nation was to be safeguarded by CHRISTIANS and the CHURCH. As they nearly all wrote - this experiment with liberty can only last so long as the people were a religious and moral people.

We are no longer such a people. And the entity RESPONSIBLE for losing this culture to hedonism and sin - IS THE CHURCH (and when I say ‘church’ I mean ALL Christian/biblical denominations in this country).

We LOST the culture, not politicians, not the hedonists, not the truly corrupt and wicked, they are merely doing what comes naturally. But we CHRISTIANS, we’re responsible for the loss of our culture.

How many divorces, adulteries and abortions are committed by Christians and tolerated among the congregations? How much filth and adopted filth has the church permitted their people to watch and wallow in? Even to the point of co-opting parts of it to attract numbers to fill their pews and donation baskets?

If the churches will repent and return - THEN and ONLY THEN, will the church be ready to tackle and bring the Gospel to the truly corrupt and the pagans. But the church in this country by and large no longer believes it has a duty to do Matthew 28:19-20. Many are ashamed and bought the lie that they should not sit in judgment of sin or other faiths not of Christ. Such a church and people have no power whatsoever in terms of reaching the wicked. They have a form of religion only , and WE ARE become a II Timothy 3 generation in the church.

A light on a hill cannot be hid under a bushel - and that is EXACTLY what the church has done to itself, appeasing and compromising principles and God’s Laws with man’s dictates and desires.

I’m sorry that you are not sorry about the true condition of the church in America today. There was a reason Jesus wondered aloud if He would find faith on the earth when He returned. You somehow think Americans are exempt?

Evil and wicked people will always rail against righteousness because they hate God. It is when the church does the same, by compromising with such people for the sake of getting along (Gay marriage, adultery, divorce, abortion) are you really going to sit there and tell Watchmen on the wall to stop calling the church out on it’s shallow lukewarm faith and negate the command to come to repentance?

Revival in this nation will never come without repentance happening in the church first.

if you think the church has no need to repent, then you illustrate the very reason why we lost the culture to the incorrigibly wicked to begin with.

Sorry, but your bitching about the Watchmen who are crying aloud a warning to the churches to stop being Lukewarm and regain their saltiness is no different than the Secularists who want us to shut up as well.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.... you just keep piling the bubblegum churches in the truly faithful ones and tell me how many of them have to become faithful before God grants repentance for the sake of the faithful Church.

Meanwhile, you can continue to congratulate yourself for challenging those who will not give you that much grief or discomfort.

You're nothing but the right-wing version of the "brave" activist who "stands up" for global warming, women's rights, gay rights, and racial justice.

I will agree with you that the entity responsible for losing the culture is the Church, but it's not because they suddenly got corrupt; it's because, like the Pro-Life Movement, they refused to recognize their enemies carefully developed strategies and built barriers against their influence, but they insist on using the same obsolete tactics and failed doctrines the "world" built specific defenses against! Then when they see they're losing, they say to themselves "we just aren't doing it hard enough" or "It's our own sinfulness that's preventing God from giving us the victory."

In short, people like you are taking the soft, easy way...you'd rather bury your "talent" by haranguing the Church instead of "risking" any of it by tangling with "the world."

If you want to preach "holiness," by all means, go for it. That is an admirable aspiration. But I'll guarantee you one thing, the Eastern Church did not fall to, and the Western Church did not survive the onslaught of islam, because one was holier than the other.

I submit God has a much bigger agenda for his people than just refraining from sin, and failure to discover, develop, and execute, that agenda not only robs people of his grace, but will end with "even what he has will be taken from him"

Thanks for illustrating yourself as no different than the rabid militant Secularists. I have scripture and the writings and speeches of the Founding Fathers who were beholden to scripture to back up every and all admonitions and exhortations I make, and they are the same ones Cahn made.

That you belittle, marginalize and show your disdain for those giving these warnings reveals either your own ignorance of the scriptures and the need for the watchmen to admonish this people, or your own aversion to the truth that is preached in those regards.

As to my own personal 'stand' of risk by doing Matthew 28:19-20 and engaging true pagans who never heard of Christ - I spent the first half of last year living in the slums of rural SouthEast India to serve brethren there. If that is 'soft' to you - then praytell what have you done to fulfill the Commission that you consider to be 'hard'?

It is God's people in this wayward nation that the warning message of the need for repentance is targeted, PRECISELY because scripture is consistent with that message. Judgment begins on God's House and His People first - long before the rest of the nation is judged. What I will say is that it will more tolerable in the Day of Judgment for India, than for this nation.

Do not make this thread "about" individual Freepers. That is also a form of "making it personal."

Discuss the issues but do not make it personal.

OR...because like the priests of Baal, they are being mocked for their adherence to doctrines that are so OBVIOUSLY ineffectual.

Do you think the Pharisees and Sadducees had no Scripture to point to for their every accusation?

As to my own personal 'stand' of risk by doing Matthew 28:19-20 and engaging true pagans who never heard of Christ - I spent the first half of last year living in the slums of rural SouthEast India to serve brethren there. As I said before, the problem isn't "pagan's who never heard of Christ," and I do honor your commitment and service in that regard. I'm talking about those who HAVE heard of Christ, and are in active opposition to "The Way."

And in every case where those opponents have been effective in their opposition, it has been because they were able to seize the moral high ground AWAY from the people of faith! In response, those who speak for the "sheep" have only "bleated."

Oh, those shepherds can produce all manner of sound and fury when lording over the sheep, but when it comes to the wolves it seems the pat response is to redouble their "ministrations" to the SHEEP!

I submit to you there are more than enough faithful "sheep" in this land. What we lack is faithful shepherds.

They go about building their own comfortable little kingdoms, further dividing the flock, proudly proclaiming THEIR devotion to Scripture, and only rarely venturing past the borders of their little pasture.

Tell me, who among the people of faith are actually actively trying to JOIN these divided flocks?
