Actually, it's Greek (it's o.k., people think "Kyrie eleison" is Latin too.)

οὐ - τόπος

not - place.

The word τόπος is the root of our word "topography".

St. Thomas More was fluent in both Latin and Greek, as was every well-educated gentleman of that time.
