To: 2nd Amendment; Colofornian

Just as I can’t imagine believing any of the whacky Mormon stuff, so I can’t imagine this endless obsessively obsessive obsession that Colofornian has on the subject. Notice that he doesn’t just post an endless series of anti-Mormon articles, but he also adds his own repititiously repititive data dump of links, notes and quotes.

I know I don’t have to read this stuff and I do always skip over every datadump-type post from everyone in FR. But this particular article (not the post that accompanies it but the article itself) is mildly amusing, I have to admit.

BTW, I lived and worked in Las Vegas for many years, worked with a lot of Mormons, generally found them level-headed, dependable and conservative.

I hate say this but it’s true. I lived in Montana for 15 years around a lot of Mormons. They were some of the nicest, most conservative, conscientious people I knew (Even better than most Christians!) Saying this, I cannot in any way accept their wacky history and theology. But I am electing a President, not a theologian. Kennedy did a lot of good things while he was President, but he was an abysmal Catholic. Bill Clinton had a budget surplus while Monica was under his desk.

They do.

Once, I was walking around the lake path and saw two Mormon missionary ladies with their nametags on. I went up to them and asked "Will you be eternally pregnant and living on Kobol?".

They answered "You do know something about us", which I took for a solid 'Yes'.

They asked me if I had read the book of Mormon, to which I replied "Yes, and I was wondering why so many sections were word for word from the King James Bible?"

To that they replied, "you should talk with our elders".
