There are times when, although you already know about a bad societal trend, an event occurs which crystallizes all that you sense was wrong about it. I had one of those moments when I opened a Saturday edition of the Cedar Rapids Gazette, our local newspaper, and read an article entitled “Group Delivers Anti-Gay Message At Iowa School”.
According to the article, the Dunkertown Iowa school district had invited an openly Christian band, “JunkYard Prophet” to hold a student assembly to talk about positive life choices and tolerance.
DUNKERTON, Iowa (AP) — Potentially offensive messages about homosexual and transgender people have prompted a contrary message of tolerance from an eastern Iowa school superintendent.
Waterloo television station KWWL reports (http://bit.ly/wG2QAK) Dunkerton Community School Superintendent Jim Stanton talked to students Thursday afternoon about the messages delivered during an assembly earlier in the day.
Stanton says the messages delivered by a band Junkyard Prophet and a group called You Can Run But You Cannot Hide didn’t conform to the district’s teaching of tolerance. He says it was a mistake to invite them.
After the band played some music Thursday morning and discussed the perils of provocative lyrics, the performers and group members reportedly made disparaging remarks about homosexual and transgender people.
But the message of the group itself proved to be “intolerable” to the school administration and some of the students.
Comments about homosexuality were offensive to some students, including seventh grader Adam Manahl, “I wanted to walk out. But I’m like,keep your calm, listen to what they have to say”, he said. Later boys and girls were split up. Some girls said they were given a message against abortion.
Kenzly Rickfels , a junior ,said she was uncomfortable with the discussion and didn’t join in. “They called me out because I wasn’t participating because I didn’t believe what they wanted me to believe in, and they forced me to participate.
The school principal has apologized, saying he was shocked, and that the school district’s mission is one of “tolerance and acceptance”. He has also called another school assembly to “talk to the students about what had happened”.
You would almost think that there had been a crime committed! But in the modern sense, there was a crime, a thought crime had been committed by the invited christian ministry. They had committed the crime of telling impressionable students that they didn’t think homosexuality and abortion were very good “lifestyle choices”.
The school administer has dutifully apologized for his part in the “crime” , and is now atoning for it.
Welcome to the “brave New World” of the godless and “tolerant”. Pray for our children! They have been brainwashed to the point that they now think that any dissent of the atheistic and amoral propaganda they are being nurtured on, is a high offense.
Barring a revival, the next generation is well on its way to Hell.

Pastor Bill, you and I seem to be on the same page much of the time - amazingly I’ve just recently come across the image of a millstone in relation to studying where the world is headed and why. Would you like to hear it?
Go to your local bookstore, and if you dare, look at the titles of all the books in the teen section. It will grieve your heart to no end. No need to read the books, their covers and titles tell the stories.
Satan is attempting to devour this generation’s youth and poison their minds against the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Satan will fight to the bloody end to keep the light out. And many parents are all to cooperative to help him in his endeavor by allowing these things to pollute their children’s minds.:(

There are books about cutting, anorexia, rape, all types of sex. All under the guise of trying to “relate” or “understand”. It’s kind of like the exploitation movies of yesteryear that purported to show “shocking” material as a public service.
I never understood the opening chapters of Huxley’s “Brave New World” where children are encouraged to express their sexuality from a very young age.
Finally, it struck me the other day - it’s a way to destroy their souls.

There’s a big millstone occupying the White House.... Hopefully the nation can quit wearing it in November.
Healthy maturation is a process of learning to discern. It is the JOB of good parents and a God-fearing society to teach what is good and beneficial AND to show why other things are bad and detrimental for the growing soul. That is how a child is ‘raised up in the way that they should go.’ Evil seeks to shove temptations at children BEFORE they have learned to discern. Sadly, the society prevalent now in America lacks the ‘raising the child up in the way that they should go’ and has fallen to the wave of bread and circuses. The parents are not good and the society is no longer God-fearing.
Do they specify the "disparaging" remarks? There is a big difference between "the Bible calls homosexual behavior a sin, so pray for them" and "kill all the queers".

Whatever happened to “I don’t agree with what you say but I’ll defend unto death your right to say it’’? Who are homosexuals that they can’t be critized?
