The Crystal Cathedral continues its decline. After the bankruptcy, (the creditors apparently have not yet been paid), the sale of the building, resignations/firings of some grown Schuller children and sons- in-law recently, now the elder Schullers have resigned from the board, apparently over money.
I feel sympathy for the members of the local congregation. Their offerings have paid for the church, and they have had no voice in the financial and bankruptcy proceedings.

Why doesn’t he just think positive thoughts and bring in the money he needs?

This is such a sad story. I honestly thought Schuller had died. It seems it went downhill from when he handed the reins to his son.
My mother-in-law set great store by Schuller and the Crystal Cathedral. I can honestly say I’m glad she didn’t live to see this. Although I can also honestly say she would have taken it in stride, people are fallible, etc.
But I’m glad she was spared this one disappointment.
I love you H., and miss you every day.

A church based on a single charismatic pastor always comes to an end.

Attorneys for the Schullers have made almost weekly offers to the Cathedral's board to settle the claim, which includes a $120,000 annual housing allowance, a $198,000 annual payment in license fees and additional medical benefits$120k ANNUAL housing allowance.
That would cover a $2 million mortgage at 4% over 30 years + taxes.
I would think at 86 his house(s) ought to be paid off.

Don't let the door hit you on the tushie on the way out. You exited Christianity decades ago; you must exit a now Christian cathedral. Wonder how it tastes.
