THE BOOK OF JACOB
THE BROTHER OF NEPHICHAPTER 224 Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.
25 Wherefore, thus saith the Lord, I have led this people forth out of the land of Jerusalem, by the power of mine arm, that I might raise up unto me a righteous branch from the fruit of the loins of Joseph.
26 Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old.
27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;
28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
29 Wherefore, this people shall keep my commandments, saith the Lord of Hosts, or cursed be the land for their sakes.
30 For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up seed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things.
31 For behold, I, the Lord, have seen the sorrow, and heard the mourning of the daughters of my people in the land of Jerusalem, yea, and in all the lands of my people, because of the wickedness and abominations of their husbands.
32 And I will not suffer, saith the Lord of Hosts, that the cries of the fair daughters of this people, which I have led out of the land of Jerusalem, shall come up unto me against the men of my people, saith the Lord of Hosts.
Or even HERE:

THE
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTSSECTION 1325157, Emma Smith is counseled (commanded) to be faithful and true; 5866, Laws governing the plurality of wives are set forth.51 Verily, I say unto you: A commandment I give unto mine handmaid, Emma Smith, your wife, whom I have given unto you, that she stay herself and partake not of that which I commanded you to offer unto her; for I did it, saith the Lord, to aprove you all, as I did Abraham, and that I might require an offering at your hand, by covenant and sacrifice.52 And let mine handmaid, Emma Smith, areceive all those that have been given unto my servant Joseph, and who are virtuous and pure before me; and those who are not pure, and have said they were pure, shall be destroyed, saith the Lord God.53 For I am the Lord thy God, and ye shall obey my voice; and I give unto my servant Joseph that he shall be made ruler over many things; for he hath been afaithful over a few things, and from henceforth I will strengthen him.55 But if she will not abide this commandment, then shall my servant Joseph do all things for her, even as he hath said; and I will bless him and multiply him and give unto him an ahundredfold in this world, of fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, houses and lands, wives and children, and crowns of beternal lives in the eternal worlds.
GOOD!
Our methods are WORKING!!!
We try to encourage MORMONs to post something POSITIVE about their religion; but, for whatever reason, they seem to be quite cowed these days.
Let's hear from an expert:
" The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no successunless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly -- it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over."
CONFAB; you learned (or at least READ) on another thread that the lds dudes were not KICKED off, they commited enough violations of FR protocol to get themselves ZOTTED off!
WHINING is what is 'getting old'!
(Oh, and I forgot to dedicate this thread to one of those zotted ones who still reads FR: Fproy...we miss ya, Fred!)
And that is no:
I have no idea but I was referring to the formal clothes he is always shown wearing in his portraits...but it could also refer to the “holy underwear” they wear today, assuming Smith himself used it.
Amen!
Todd Compton's list of Joseph Smith's 33 plural concubines reads like a Who's Who of early Mormonism surnames. Many of the chosen ones, were given obviously to Smith to help "seal the deal." This includes Brigham's older sister (mother?) Fanny Young.
You may remember that many LDS historians believe Compton's roster is by no means complete. Fawn Brodie for instance lists 56 fillies. 80 is another popular total.
You may also recall that many of Smiths conquests were also sealed to other Saints at the same time. In other words, the letches were also in to "swinging."
Smith was a sexual pervert using just about any definition you prefer.
Good stuff.
Yes.
Richard Abanes outlined this, saying this started with Smith sleeping with wives of other men.
"Other Mormons followed suit. Consider Lucinda Pendleton. She is widely known for having married first Smith, then Brigham Young after Smith's murder. But what is commonly overlooked is that she married Smith and Young while STILL married to a George Harris. And Zina Huntington married Brigham Young while still married to Henry Jacobs. Jacobs, in fact, stood as a witness. Wife-swapping was eventually looked upon as wholly acceptable if an influential church authority was involved. Jedediah M. Grant, for example, admitted, 'If President Young wants my wives I will give them to him without a grumble, and he can take them whenever he likes.' Grant also explained, ["]What would a man of God say, who felt aright, when Joseph [Smith] asked him for his money? He would say, "Yes, and I wish I had more to help to build up the kingdom of God." Or if he came and said, "I want your wife?" "O yes," he would say, "here she is; there are plenty more." The Confessions of John D. Lee confirmed wife-swapping in Utah, saying, 'Some have mutually agreed to exchange wives.' One of Brigham's own brothers, Lorenzo Young, engaged in just such a trade with a Mr. Decker, whose wife was wanted by Lorenzo. The two men simply swapped mates." (Inside Today's Mormonism, p. 237, Harvest House, 2004, citing Lee's book, p. 165 and other sources)
I get the point...
The grass may be greener; but it still has to be mowed.
Cute! :-)
