“Corapi forced the witnesses to sign non-disclosure agreements and paid the accuser cash. All innocent people do this especially priests, right?”
For those who arent aware, this is standard, everyday business practice.
His defamation of character lawsuit against his accuser will force her to provide proof of her claims, and the details will be publicized. After the lies and wreckage caused by the bishopssecretive, behind-closed-doors handling of the clergy sex crimes, and their efforts to stifle Mother Angelica, blind faith in their judgment is clearly not the wisest course. Catholics aren’t required to leave their brains at the door.
Put no trust in princes, in mere mortals powerless to save (Ps 146:3).
Demanding that an accused person either handles accusations against them exactly as Padre Pio did, or else they are abandoning their cross is a false dichotomy.
Why are supposedly orthodox Catholics so quick to condemn this man before the facts are revealed, rather than wait and see how this plays out?
Its pharisaical.
“A priest who refused to submit to his own order”
Fr.Corapi has taken the advice of Fr. James Flanagan, Founder and most respected member of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, and Bishop Rene Gracida, the former Bishop of Corpus Christi, who advised him strongly to file a civil defamation suit. How is this refusing to submit to his own order, when the founder himself advised him to take this path, and a bishop also encouraged him to proceed?
“refused to allow the investigation go forward without interfering with witnesses”
What if he refused to let them pull his tooth? Or fix his car? These aren’t trained investigators we’re talking about here, so their ability to conduct a competent investigation is certainly in question.
“This is a fallen priest who did not want to submit to the Church and not only abandon his vow of priesthood but his vow of obedience.”
Not true at all. What you’re saying is a distortion of the facts.
“You can not compare Corapi and Pio in the same breath as one was virtuous and one wasn’t.”
You’re welcome to your opinion, but since the facts are still to be determined, it might be more charitible to stop using Padre Pio as a weapon to beat up on Fr. Corapi, just because he is following a different script.
Padre Pio’s words: “To fail in charity is to wound God in the pupil of his eye.”
I think you are confused. The superior of John Corapi’s order is Fr. Gerry Sheehan, Regional Priest Servant of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity.
Father Sheehan, again so you grasp it, is Corapi’s superior.
Sheehan is the one who publicly claimed that Corapi refused to submit to obedience and interfered with the investigation before he quit to become an internet evangelist.
Bishop Mulvey of Corpus Christi is Corapi’s Bishop not Flanagan.
So instead of following the Catholic church and his superiors he followed a retired priests advice?
There’s no need for ignore buttons on FR as we don’t mind listening to and dealing with lefties unlike sorosbots.
As for your anti-Catholic remark...I’ve read Alinsky.
BlatherNaut he calls the Catholic League liars, tries to shove numbers down our throats as statistics, offhand numbers he took them from a review and posted them as stats, then refused to provide the original link, and more than 3 freeper Catholics outed him as a “pretender”...

He and another individual here are applying Alinsky...
‘Pick the Target, Freeze It, Personalize It and Polarize It.’
They did the same with Fr Malachy Martin (RIP), a good friend of mine, these individuals try to take down all decent Orthodox priests.
A sheep dog still watches the sheep. We cannot judge or discrimate that the dog might be black.
Only God can judge. We don’t know all the details.
