Hallelujahs are sounding loudly from at least two local churches as members celebrate a long-sought change in the Presbyterian Church to fully include everyone regardless of their sexual or gender orientation.
St. Mark's Presbyterian Church has worked to remove obstacles for openly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender ordination for more than two decades..
Newquist, 37, said she feels a "huge debt of gratitude" to the Presbyterians who changed their minds and made the change possible. "It's a hard thing for anyone, but particularly when you have had a strong conviction to say, 'I was wrong and I'm ready to make a different stand,' " she said.

agree.
And Christ weeps at the Unbelievable Unbelief and evilness that these churches are now practicing.
Turn your back on God, and he turns his back on you.
Turn towards God, and he is right there to welcome you back.
Hopefully, these people will be given over to the devil for awhile to learn their lesson and then return to God.
This St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church in Arizona - I don’t don’t find it listed as a congregation of the The Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
The OPC does not, to my knowledge, ordain women, let alone lesbians.
This undoubtedly is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church USA, from which numerous congregations have split away from, since it is patently heretical and has been heading that direction since before WWII, though it is considered “mainstream” by unbelievers and those who are unaware of the different doctrines of the various Presbyterian denominations. In terms of Protestant denominations, generally the large “mainstream” ones have driven out sound doctrine, and the remnant who adhere to sound doctrine have splintered off into smaller denominations.
Just thought I’d check to see if these hallelujahs and hosannahs were from the repulsively sinister and communist to the core “Arizona Daily Star” out of Tucson. Indeed they were. They are the farthest left, lying scum on the planet.
I wouldn’t let my dog crap on that rag.
As in the last post, the ex-Ruling elder, Paul M Elliott points out sadly, it is heading the way of the PCUSA. The women deaconesses is next, then the rest.
There is a list of requirements written in Titus and Timothy that apply to elders or overseers (Pastors).
I’ve looked this over carefully and see nothing about equality, social justice or inclusiveness on it. I have, however, seen a lot about being exceptionally respectable, goodhearted, and sober with a quiet and well ordered household. And above all a follower and seeker after holiness and scripture.
* Be above reproach (Titus & Timothy)
* Husband of one wife (Titus & Timothy)
* Self-Controlled (Titus & Timothy)
* Hospitable (Titus & Timothy)
* Not a drunkard (Titus & Timothy)
* Not violent (Titus)
* Not violent but gentle (Timothy)
* Sober-minded (Timothy)
* Upright (Titus)
* Respectable (Timothy)
* Able to teach (Timothy)
* Not quarrelsome (Timothy)
* Not greedy for gain (Titus)
* Not a lover of money (Timothy)
* His children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination (Titus)
* Manages his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive (Timothy)
* Not a recent convert (Timothy)
* Must be well thought of by outsiders (Timothy)
* Not arrogant (Titus)
* Not quick tempered (Titus)
* A lover of good (Titus)
* Holy (Titus)
* Disciplined (Titus)
* Holds firm to the trustworthy word (Titus)
True, but if you can vote on doctrine, you can toss it all out, which is what’s happening here
You’re absolutely right. Church elders and teachers are supposed to be the best. Most repentent sinners wouldn’t (and shouldn’t) make the cut. These heretics are in open defiance. They place the second great commandment above the first!
#1 Love God with all your heart, mind and soul. How does one love God? One loves God by obeying Him.
#2 Love your fellow man as yourself. (NOTE: nothing in this absolves one of the need to turn away from their sins!!!)
And more will flee to whatever remains of protestant churches that still adhere to God’s word and/or the Roman Catholic or Orthodox church.
Cronos You are so Right. I have never been a Presbyterian.I seem to recall they played a significant role in Americas history of Christianity. But now seem to be rushing to be in the vanguard of the Great Falling Away.spoken of in Scripture as necessary to the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. These things must come —but woe to the one that brings it.
Show me a church that accepts blatent sin within its midst ... and I’ll show you a church with unqualified elders.
oh, I would love to be smug but it’s very obvious to all
St. Mark's Presbyterian Church has worked to remove obstacles for openly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender ordination for more than two decades..
When do you think that they are going to make it mandatory?
Satan has won his war of attrition against the one true Gospel in the OPC (113).
and The OPC long ago ceased to proclaim the one true Gospel to the exclusion of all false gospels (115).
and The Orthodox Presbyterian Church has abandoned the marks of a true church of Jesus Christ (118).
One questions whether they were Christian right from the beginning...
Yeah, more of the “mainstream”is going over this cliff.
What is the next OPC move after replacing Christ in the manger with baby Machen (the OPC founder and chief prophet?)
