Sarah Palins emails, released late last week demonstrating how she found strength and guidance in her Christian faith, are the latest target of the mainstream media.
National Journal included Palins prayer for Gods guidance on the Alaskas budget in what it featured as the top 10 revelations from her emails Sunday. I have been praying for wisdom on this ... God will have to show me what to do on the peoples budget because I dont yet know the right path ... He will show me though, Sarah Palin was quoted as saying in an email.
This was one of the 13,000 emails from her first 21 months as the governor of Alaska released last Friday.
Associated Press also found Palins prayer worth a special mention while portraying her in a negative light. At least once, she prayed for strength, the newswire exclaimed. Other times, she fired off messages to her aides, most fierce when the subject was defending her record or her family.
They [the emails] also revealed that Palin, as the newly minted Republican vice-presidential nominee [in 2008], was dismayed by the sudden onslaught of questions from reporters, especially one about whether she believed dinosaurs and humans existed at the same time, Associated Press said, alluding to her belief in creationism as a Christian.
In a story entitled Sarah Palin asked God for guidance over Alaska state budget, U.K.s Guardian said Palins emails reveal pleas for divine inspiration in aiding policies affecting allocation of funds in the state. Sarah Palin sought advice from an unusual source when she was deliberating over how to frame the Alaskan state budget in 2008 she called on God for guidance, according to emails released under freedom of information, the daily said.
Guardian admitted that there was nothing new about her faith in God. The former Alaskan governors deep religious beliefs are well known. She is an evangelical Christian who belongs to the Assembly of God in her home town of Wasilla, a church whose congregants have been known to speak in tongues, it added. So why was this featured as news?
Rarely has such a direct connection been drawn between her faith and her policymaking, Guardian justified, comparing it with the controversy that followed George Bushs statement that God had advised him to attack Iraq shortly after the invasion.
Africas Mail & Guardian Online suggested that the content of a letter Palin wrote to friends and family about the birth of her Downs syndrome baby, Trig, showed her God complex. She signed from Trigs Creator, Your Heavenly Father, it said, quoting her email as saying, Every child is created special Trig is no different, except he has one extra chromosome.
Many Republicans complain that mainstream media consistently add adjectives, such as conservative, while referring to GOP members but their counterparts from the other party are depicted only as Democrats.
First requested during the 2008 presidential race by citizens and media, Sarah Palins emails were released last Friday after government attorneys read every page to identify and edit sensitive information. The three-year delay is being linked to the volume of the material.
Palin, a possible candidate in the 2012 presidential election, has been vocal about her Christian faith. In August 2008, when Times Jay Newton Small interviewed then little-known Palin on phone, she identified her religion as Christianity saying she was a Bible-believing Christian and attended a non-denominational Bible church. I was baptized Catholic as a newborn and then my family started going to non-denominational churches throughout our life, she said.
In another interview, with CBS, on June 2, 2010, Palin said she did not intend to impose her faith on others. I think it [evolution] should be taught as an accepted principle. And, as you know, I say that also as the daughter of a school teacher, a science teacher, who has really instilled in me a respect for science. It should be taught in our schools. And I wont deny that I see the hand of God in this beautiful creation that is Earth. But that is not part of the state policy or a local curriculum in a school district. She said this describing herself as an open book.
I had to check twice: I seriously thought this was satire by Mr. Semmens the first time I read it...
Madame President couldn’t buy this kind of publicity. It’s really shocking. In church today we actually prayed for the President and government officials to be led to make wise decisions. We also prayed for people to be healed. My church must be a bunch of religious nuts. I’m sure we’re in a minority...
A little attacking by the media against her Evangelical faith would be a good thing for her right now, I hope the media does try some of that.
No, that’s how far away the elites are from average people. They think the Untermenschen will share their disdain for Christianity. Seriously.
Obama says he prays for guidance, too.
Exactly. The only people offended by this are brain-dead Obamists.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This is not going to hurt her. It is going to redound to her benefit. They keep trying to find the silver bullet to put her away and instead they keep innoculating her; she get stronger with every attack.
That is the mark of God’s hand. We are blessed to have a couple of Christians in this race and she is the lightning rod, she draws the fire and opens the space for the others. I have noticed that about her from very early on, that by drawing fire to herself she gives others the courage to step up.
At some point people are going to start wondering when her attackers will start producing their own emails. And at some point, by making her Christian faith an issue they make their own hatred of Christians an issue. They do not want the spotlight on their own atheism and they are the ones who are doing it to themselves. They will be collateral damage in an attack that leaves her unscathed.
More of this “no reasonable person” could take religion seriously stuff.
Right.
There peeps of LSM are jackals.
These peeps of LSM are jackals.
Sheesh. It’s too late for me to be here. I have much to do tonight.
:-)
Fancy that MSM, thanks for telling me.
i actually hope this becomes an issue she is asked about during the debates...it will only help her, esp. among racial and ethnic minorities who tend to be more religious and are disenchanted with Obama’s social liberalism.
I pray she is asked about this in the debates by the LSM jackals!
(((((CondoleezzaProtege)))))
I just posted the very same thought!
I pray she asked about this in the debates by the LSM jackals!
By the time 2012 rolls around the only people listening to the MSM will be on the Obama staff or campaign. Even the drooling liberal dolts who vote for him don't trust the MSM anymore.
*(Queer, Faggot, Sick, Sicker - that “LBGT” crap is intended to make it seem that there's an easily recognizable and widely accepted group that needs defended and protected from normal people)
He writes notes on golf balls and then tries to whack them into heaven?
