Rev. Franklin Graham On Obama’s Birth Certificate: ‘Why Can’t He Produce That?’
Mediaite ^ | April 24, 2011 | Matt Schneider

Reverend Franklin Graham appeared on This Week and host Christiane Amanpour got him to share his feelings on many of today’s political personalities. In addition to speaking favorably of many potential Republican candidates for President, Graham revealed that he too is curious about why President Obama has yet to produce more records related to his birth.

Graham previously traveled with Sarah Palin to Haiti but declared that he doesn’t expect her to run for President. Graham said, “I don’t think she likes politics, I think she likes speaking on the issues, and I agree with many of the issues that she brings up.” Regarding other possible candidates, Graham admitted that Mitt Romney is “a very capable person,” however, Graham seemed more excited to talk about Donald Trump. Graham revealed about Trump:

“When I first saw that he was getting in, I thought ‘well this has got to be a joke,’ but the more you listen to him, the more you say to yourself, ‘you know maybe the guy’s right.’”

Not only is Graham open to supporting Trump for President, but Graham apparently has been listening to Trump long enough to also wonder about Obama’s birth certificate. Graham thinks Obama “can solve this whole birth certificate issue pretty quickly . . . I don’t know why he can’t produce that?” And despite considering Obama to be a “nice man,” Graham also suggests that even if Obama considers himself to be a Christian because he goes to Church, “a membership [alone] doesn’t make you a Christian.” Overall, it seems like the Reverend delivered to Obama a not so pleasant Easter Sunday message.

Better put some ice on that, Barry.

LOL, I think he’s going to need a little more than ice. And that certificate of live birth looks kinda bogus too. When you put down African as the race of his father from 1961? That doesn’t even make sense to me. African? That’s a race? No, I don’t think so, in 1961 it would have been Negro.

This is the wildest time I have ever seen. I know the Reverend Billy Graham and while he would probably stay out of it his Son is not going to. Keep in mind that the Grahams refused to pray for him at the inauguration. They know he is a dictator in training.

That to me is more than proof that the idiot that created it doesn’t know what “race” is.

I wish he (Franklin Graham) had been on the roundtable instead of Richard Land. Land did (IMO) an awful job of representing the “religious right” point of view, and called those who are concerned about Obama’s birth and religion “nuts”.

If I tell someone that I am born and raised in Johannesburg what does that make me? Liberals are pretty damn stupid.

Sounds more PC than anything to me. And in 1961, we were not PC.

I’ve also heard that he’s using a Connecticut SS number. I haven’t really dug into that so not sure about it. At any rate with obama’s history he should have a SS number from Hawaii not Connecticut.

I thought Graham did a mediocre interview and showed he isn't ready for prime time. Concerning that part of the interview dealing with husseins birth certificate, Graham should have said from his own personal experience in the public light, he understands the presidents desire for privacy however, one condition for entering public life is the resulting loss of privacy.

Because millions of Americans are divided over this issue and given the presidents role of national uniter, he (Graham) thinks the best thing is for the president to sacrifice a small amount of personal privacy by going ahead and releasing whatever document it is that these "birthers" are seeking. Doing so seems like a simple way of healing a crack that has millions of Americans divided.

SSN’s are applied at the time and home of residence. His doesn’t match up at all.

Seriously, Graham needed to listen to Trump for a couple weeks to understand it was not a JOKE that Obama had not released his birth certificate ? That is just lame.
So maybe The Donald is pushing this into whatever passes for the “mainstream” today.

I thought the implicit point of disagreement was relevance of the issue, not the fact that that the president wasn’t hiding something.

Correct. His race would have been Negro or Caucasian. It would be the equivalent of my race being “European”. It is stupid on all levels.

What you wrote is excellent !
And something every Republican should say when they are asked
to answer the questions
that Barry should be answering.
Only Obama knows the answers to the questions
that he is never asked.
Why most Republicans are falling all over themselves to answer for him is a mystery.
Especially since they couldn’t possibly know the answers.
In the case of his sealed , scrubbed and sanitized past , Republicans have become his best ally.

As I understand it, that field (race) could be filled in as the parents saw fit. IOW, if the father wanted to describe himself as ‘African’, he was at liberty to do so and Hawaii would accept it, within reason.

I interpreted Graham’s ‘joke’ reference to the idea of Trump ‘gettting into it’ with ‘it’ being the presidential race, not the particular birth cert question. The way it’s phrased, it’s hard to determine to which he was referring.

“Why can’t he produce it?” Well as a matter of fact, he CAN. He just doesn’t WANT to. And that is the question every Republican would be asking, were they not such spineless, pathetic pusses.
