Religious slumming.
Reminds me of the intellectual slumming of New York City rich leftist elites like the late Leonard Bernstein and his wife.
They consistently invited unkempt, vulgar, enemies of our country, the beret-topped Black Panthers, to their regular weekly artsy-fartsy exclusive salons....sending drooling tingles down every guest's liberal legs and onto the apartment's expensive carpeting.
This made them more tolerant and open-minded than the mere mortals who lived in all the Toonervilles outside of NYC.
So it is with these ignorant Mormon swooners.
Great Post, Leni
However, one attraction for the mormons is that the muslims don't really mind that the mormons keep demanding to be called Christian even though they aren't. Christians have a problem with that, thus you don't see these "outreach" efforts by the mormon church to Christians en masse.
[MHGinTN]
Son, you arent going to earn the title Christian by association, especially with a religion more demonic than your chosen one.
[Stourme]
If I believed what you teach and followed your path...then I'd end up like you. And I don't want that.
Luke 6:42 ...Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
I marvel at people that say the most contentious, mean, nasty, unkind things and point fingers calling other people "demonic" and then claim themselves to be "christian". The hypocrisy is beyond words.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is lead by Jesus Christ Himself. And He wants us to reach out to all the people of the world.
Matt 5:14-16
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
You can't let your light so shine before men if you refuse to associate with them.
To love all people is to reach out to all people. To love all people is to have charity in your heart.

“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is lead by Jesus Christ Himself.”
Can you tell me a bit more about this Jesus who leads the
mormon group?
Has He always been God, neither created nor made?
Is He a separate God from the Father?
Was he created as the result of an act of sex between two of your other gods (heavenly father and heavenly mother)?
Thanks,
ampu
Seriously? Then why do you (lds) insist on calling Christians hypocrites, do not reject the leaders "whore of Babylon" comment, or here on FR when you (lds) call Christians demons, progressives, liars, trouble makers, deceivers, bigots, haters...................among other things. Just not feeling the love, just not feeling it.
Your supposed prophet was not only 'divining with a peepstone' conning farmers over imaginary buried treasure, but he was a liar and a sexual predator of still married women. Your demonically inspired profit (see reference Kirkland Bank scam and three dollar bills of Joseph Smith) fabricate whole books of bogus scripture (see the book of Abraham and Pearl of Great Price) from now easily translated hieroglyphs from the Egyptian Book of The Dead describing embalming poetry.
I also find it interesting that your ilk continue to quote the King James Bible to us as your talisman for protection (?) yet your demonically inspired religion only endorses the Bible 'where it is translated correctly', yet you don't even use the supposed perfect retranslation (with demonically inspired additions like the eight hundred plus words at the end of the Book of Gensis where Smith fabricated a prophecy of his coming forth in these latter days!) your lying sexual predator profit claimed was inspired from the Mormon god to correct all those 'mistranslations' (see Joseph Smith Translation of the King James Bible, into King James English).
Since you tend to pick and choose which posts you'll reply to, ignoring those which you cannot refute when sound Bible teaching is at the heart of them, I'll leave off any Bible passages in this post, to see if you feel more comfortable mischaractizing this post now.
So does the LDS, so this should not come as a big surprise...
Someone in our Ward is a member of this group in our area.
So does the LDS, so this should not come as a big surprise...
Clarification: She belongs to an “interfaith” fellowship that meets once a month.
Ok stormy - lets evaluate other statments -
"When the light came to me I saw that all the so-called Christian world was groveling in darkness." - Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 5, p. 73
"With a regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world." - Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 8, p. 199
"The Christian world, so-called, are heathens as to the knowledge of the salvation of God" - Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 8, p. 171
"What! Are Christians ignorant? Yes, as ignorant of the things of God as the brute beast." - Prophet John Taylor, Journal of Discourses, v. 13, p. 225
"After the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized, there were only two churches upon the earth. They were known respectively as the Church of the Lamb of God and Babylon. The various organizations which are called churches throughout Christendom, though differing in their creeds and organizations, have one common origin. They all belong to Babylon." - Apostle George Q. Cannon, Gospel Truth, p. 324
Believers in the doctrines of modern Christendom will reap damnation to their souls. - Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, see pp. 45-46
This is the "light" that YOUR prophets and apostles have shown to this world. Now your other point -
To love all people is to reach out to all people. To love all people is to have charity in your heart.
Get ready to feel the love stormy -
I say, rather than that apostates should flourish here, I will unsheath [sic] my bowie knife, and conquer or die [Great commotion in the congregation, and a simultaneous burst of feeling, assenting to the declaration.]. Now, you nasty apostates, clear out, or judgment will be put to the line, and righteousness to the plummet [Voices, generally, go it, go it.]. If you say it is right, raise your hands [All hands up.]. Let us call upon the Lord to assist us in this, and every good work. - Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 1, p. 83
I have not a doubt but there will be hundreds who will leave us and go away to our enemies. I wish they would go this fall: it might relieve us from much trouble; for if men turn traitors to God and His Servants, their blood will surely be shed, or else they will be damned, and that too according to their covenants. - Apostle Heber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses, v. 4, p. 375
These are in addition to the previous words of love. Perhaps Luke 6:42 is more applicable to mormons than Christians.

Great post as always Stourme. Yet the blind anti-Mormon gang still can’t see what is right in their face. Quite fascinating sometimes. Always sad.
It surprises none that you eagerly endorse this ‘mischaracterization’ regarding calling people demonic. Your religion teaches you some interesting dissembling tecvhniques, apparently. Is Bill ‘sinkEmperor’ Clinton a Mormon?
Luke 6
(King James Version)
39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
(New International Version © 2010)
39 He also told them this parable: Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit?
40 The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.
41 Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brothers eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
42 How can you say to your brother, Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye, when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brothers eye.
A Christian is not to judge hypocritically or self righteously.
They are to obey Christ's commands to evaluate a personas character. IE false prophet, who are known by their fruits.
God's Word repeatedly exhorts Christians to evaluate carefully between good and bad people and things. IE those who masquerade as angles of light.
The rebuke Jesus speaks of here is hypocritical judging, not judging itself.
And I will remind you of your own words here...
"I marvel at people that say the most contentious, mean, nasty, unkind things and point fingers calling other people "demonic" and then claim themselves to be "christian". The hypocrisy is beyond words."
Explain yourself....please.
Either you are blind....or I am. And I've not been blind for 35 years....so that leaves..............
So you paying 10% tithe with a part of that going to translate the Pearl of Great Price into over 100 languages...
...not to mention books & curricula & other media derived from or focusing on Joseph Smith's first vision...
...where he labels 100% of professing believers of Christian sects as "corrupt" in vv. 18-19 of Joseph Smith - History [you don't have interpretation issues over that word "all" do you?}
...that is what you deem as being "charitable" toward believers???
Wow! You didn't just go there did you? Boy oh boy how I love the interwebz!
Anti's and any who question mormonism accused of being accessories to murder and arson? Compared to Gadianton robbers? Compared to pigs? Being Atherosclorotic? Sociopaths? Behaving like swine? Being dishonest? Yammering mocking demons? Spewers of hate? Vermin? Twisted thinkers? Slanderers? Liars?
Just to name a few...
I see what's in front of my face quite well.
So, tell me again why I'm the "blind" one?
Oh never mind. I expect to see pigs flying before I get an answer on that.
In conclusion let us summarize this grand key, these Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet, for our salvation depends on them.
1. The prophet is the only man who speaks for the Lord in everything.
2. The living prophet is more vital to us than the standard works.
3. The living prophet is more important to us than a dead prophet.
4. The prophet will never lead the church astray.
5. The prophet is not required to have any particular earthly training or credentials to speak on any subject or act on any matter at any time.
6. The prophet does not have to say Thus Saith the Lord, to give us scripture.
7. The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.
8. The prophet is not limited by mens reasoning.
9. The prophet can receive revelation on any matter, temporal or spiritual.
10. The prophet may advise on civic matters.
11. The two groups who have the greatest difficulty in following the prophet are the proud who are learned and the proud who are rich.
12. The prophet will not necessarily be popular with the world or the worldly.
13. The prophet and his counselors make up the First Presidencythe highest quorum in the Church.
14. The prophet and the presidencythe living prophet and the First Presidencyfollow them and be blessedreject them and suffer.
I testify that these fourteen fundamentals in following the living prophet are true. If we want to know how well we stand with the Lord then let us ask ourselves how well we stand with His mortal captainhow close do our lives harmonize with the Lords anointedthe living ProphetPresident of the Church, and with the Quorum of the First Presidency.
