KVTT 91.7 FM has been a shining example of what a Christian radio station should be in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. KVTT whose call letters came to symbolize an acronym for "Keep Voicing The Truth" moved from 91.7 FM to 1110 AM on Sept. 28, 2009 and will now move into the history books on July 12, 2010 as another defunct listener-supported radio station ...

I happened to listen to KVTT on 91.7 FM primarily when I was in college. The teaching and encouragement I received on a daily basis helped shape and mold me as a Christian man. I remember discovering such notable pastors, preachers, and teachers as: Dr. Jack Hayford, Dr. David Jeremiah, J. Vernon McGee, Dennis Rainy, Marlin Maddoux, and Dr. R.C. Sproul.

KVTT was, for many years, the only radio station in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to broadcast Christian rock music ...

good article, but I wish he had said something like "if the government didn't take such a large chunk of our income we would have more to give to ministries and those people who actually deserve it"

Obamas goal IS NOT for the government to help people, but rather to take away from those who are willing and able to help others, making everyone dependent on the whims of government.

He does not want people giving to christian orginazations because he is a cultural muslim and hates anything to do with christianity. Christian orginazations, no matter their service, give their glory to God almighty, and that angers Obama.

Obamas goal is to cripple ALL charities, to cripple all givers, and thereby crippling all people.

Oh wow—thats a bummer. Used to listen to KVTT for many years. The early AM show with Tom Dooley called ‘The Journey’ was prolific with excellent modern topics in relation to the Word of God with Biblical applications. This is truly a big loss for the DFW and North Texas area to lose this excellent station with all it’s fine programs.

Radio station formats come and go. It’s the business.

If the area is a viable market for this programming, somebody else will try to capture it.

Marlin Maddoux among many others, and the birth of the Christian Conservative movement. Those were the days. Sad goodbye to one of the “voices” of the era.

We have a great Christian Radio station in SW Kansas, KJIL. I would hate to see it go. But then FreeRepublic needs donations, too.

I used to listen to TD and The Journey too. However I thought this radio station was off the air some time ago so I was surprised to see this post.

There is alot of Christian radio in DFW so I’m not so sure it wasn’t competitive pressure more than anything else.

One of my college roommates was the station engineer for KVTT in the late 70’s. Met Eldred Thomas a few times.

Have friends who work at 1110 AM.

Sad day.
