Attacks in Malaysia designed to 'annihilate' Christians, warns Vatican official

.- Archbishop Robert Sarah, secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples said last week that the recent attacks against Christians in Malaysia are designed to annihilate and reject “those who believe in Christ.”

The archbishop made his statements on Vatican Radio after Muslim extremists firebombed four Christian churches on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The attacks came after a controversy over whether to allow Catholics to use the term “Allah,” a traditional Malay word, in referring to the Christian God.

Archbishop Sarah also pointed out that “the fact that it has been forbidden to say the name of God is like considering them (Christians) to be pagans and therefore ‘in need’ of converting to Islam. That’s what is behind this,” he said.

“We must pray for these Christians who live in Muslim lands and suffer greatly,” the archbishop concluded.

Notice how there are no replies on this thread, but some ridiculous thread posted yesterday claiming the Vatican was turning its back on terrorism in Malyasia got hundreds of replies, many in agreement.

Pathetic.

I will break my silence on your Catholic thread just this once.

Months ago I and many other non-Catholic Protestants were told, in no uncertain terms, that if we weren't Catholic, our comments were unwanted on your threads. I always read your threads, because I'm a Christian and this concerns me. But in reading your lamentations here and on other threads that people aren't stepping up to support where you would expect them, just look in the mirror.

You 'people' didn't want my 'people' commenting on your threads.

I've got to say, this is one of the few things that have p*ssed me off on FReerepublic in many years I've been here.

I’ve never told a non-Catholic poster they can’t post on Catholic threads and I don’t care if they do.

But maybe the reason some do is become some (not all, but some) non-Catholic posters have a tendency to hijack Catholic threads meant for discussion and riddle them with hate-filled Catholic bashing, like in the thread I mentioned earlier (which has now been deleted) which featured some people’s belief that Pope Pius was pro-Nazi. Look on some Vatican threads and you’ll see what I mean.

It’s one of the things that pisses ME off since I’ve been on FR.

But this isn’t a caucas thread so I understand any of us can respond?

Certainly because, just as you say this report of Christians being persecuted concerns us all. So I can’t imagine they would not want us to show that concern for what’s happening In Malaysia...unless of couse they’ve indeed stated non-Ccothaolics aren’t welcomed on threads that have perhaps have a Ccatholic bent?

Well, I’m still new and unless a Moderator tells me this is exclusive I am going to post if desired. But I understand if you opt out, I have to do that at times as well.

I’m not surprised the issue set off the Muslims. On any issue it won’t matter to them how we choose to define and determine meanings and or not, no matter which Faith that does so. They cannot distinguish as we do.

Furthermore since the (Political)Imans/Leaders determine the laws and doctrines of (Religious)Islam, to maintain control of their people, I’m pretty certain they stirred them up to protest...they always do, for they will oppose anything which they think might neutralize their power and use the people to safegard that stronghold.

This makes my point...from that article:

Muslim preachers used Friday prayers to object to the decision, the Times reports.

“We will not allow the word Allah to be inscribed in your churches,” one speaker said at the Kampung Bahru mosque in central Kuala Lumpur. Protesters also carried posters reading “Heresy arises from words wrongly used” and “Allah is only for us.”

The perverse part about that is if you read their <quote>"scriptures"<end quote>, you would find that this position isn't even accurate according to their own writings.

That's what absolutely mystifies me about this Malaysia situation.

Truly the religion of death.

Not only a religion of death but of unimaginable deception.

We all need to sharpen up our discernment and communication/debating skills because when it comes fully into out courts, systems, and communities all will need to know how their minds work because many of their cylinders do not connect as ours do, and are seldom open to reason. This you know.
