Authorities Raid Jackson County Church

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department says the raid was part of an ongoing investigation into the New Covenant Faith Church, 1706 N. Jennings Rd., in unincorporated Jackson County. That investigation, authorities said, is at least one year old.

One church member was arrested and was being held on a federal firearms violation. Three other church members were arrested and released during Monday's search, authorities said.

The sheriff's department tells NBC Action News the non-denominational church peaked at one time at about 300 members, but currently only has about 60 members.’

Investigators have not released any more information about what the investigation included, but said late Tuesday morning they had arrested and released several church members over the weekend for unspecified reasons.
