No, I’m not saying that he’s Arminian, though he might be, but he’s an authentic expert on celtic lore and the transition of pre-Christian celtic culture into Christian celtic. One of his series places the repository of real Christianity in Scotland, so for all I know he has a strong appreciation for Calvin and kirks.
Best to read his “Byzantium”.
Also, best to keep in mind that it’s not historical fiction but is more like historical fantasy.

One of his series places the repository of real Christianity in Scotland, In what sense? I remember years ago reading an article where someone tried to make the sense that the Biblical Jerusalem is actually Edinburgh, I don't remember any of the details though.

In the sense that all of the holiest of relics had been collected in a kirk in Scotland.

Thanks. I’ll check it out. Pre-Christian celtic culture is always fascinating (although the remake of the “Wicker Man” was terrible.)

Or maybe he just stopped telling people he’s a born again Christian because it irked so many people when he announced it the first time.

It’s also a deep catalog in which to dip.
He sang Christian songs (like Just a Closer Walk With Thee) with Johnny Cash back in 1969.

He’s a fun read.
His Robyn Hud and Arthur are the best I’ve ever read on those legends.
His Patrick is an eye-opener.

LOL.
Buying a Dylan record ‘cuz you like his voice demonstrates that one has a worse ear than his voice.
His voice is perfect for what he is singing.
But few listeners would buy a dozen Dylan records if they were not finding something worthwhile inside the sleeve.

he certainly never renounced the faith No, he didn't And even now some of his songs are perfect hymns of praise and thanksgiving. "I'll be With You When the Deal Goes Down" from a couple years ago is one of my favorites.

Dylan singing "Here Comes Santa Claus"?
It really must be the "end times".
After growing up with songs like "The Changing of the Guard" and "Jokerman" this just won't work for me. His voice aint meant for stuff like this.
I'll pass.

Dylan has never been by the book.
I’m expecting rewrites, retunings, and ad libs.

Just listened to the samples...wow! I guess I am a hardcore Dylan fan because it sounds great to me!I love this stuff, LOL.
I am looking forward to this release, Dylan is not afraid to put it out there....I will gladly buy a copy—just for charity sake if nothing else ;)
