Dems hope to portray 'faith-friendly' nature in Denver

An evangelical pastor from Florida who calls himself a "conservative Republican" will be delivering the opening and closing prayer at the Democratic National Convention next Thursday in Denver.

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) will kick off Sunday with what organizers call an "interfaith gathering" of Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, and Jewish leaders and a representative of Denver's Buddhist community. A Convention spokeswoman says the event will show that Democrats are "faith-friendly" and more "religiously diverse" than Republicans.

According to news reports, "religious leaders" will open and close each day's session. On Thursday, Orlando mega-church pastor Joel Hunter will be opening and closing the DNC with prayer.

Former Republican presidential candidate Gary Bauer argues that the only way the Democratic Party can get evangelical votes is if they use the "language of faith" and get the cooperation of people like Pastor Hunter, who has indicated he may vote for Barack Obama.

"I don't know how you can do that if you're a serious evangelical pastor and are pro-life, given what Barack Obama has said publicly about his extreme views on abortion," he responds.

Nevertheless, Bauer says he wishes Hunter well. "I'm glad somebody's going to be praying at the Democratic National Convention," states Bauer, "but I certainly hope that Pastor Hunter [when speaking in Denver] prays for the unborn children...who have been destroyed because the Democratic Party supports and has supported for decades abortion on demand."

Featured speakers scheduled for earlier in the week at the DNC include the leaders of two of the nation's largest abortion advocacy groups in America -- Nancy Keenan of NARAL Pro-Choice America (Monday), and Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood of America (Tuesday).

The only “faith” the DemonRats are friendly with is Marxism, and its spawn, and anything, such as Mahometanism, that can bring down Americanism in order to hasten us towards Marxism.

Now if a conservative pastor was praying on the outside of the convention center I could by it but the opening/closing prayer - no way.
The dems will tell him what he can or cannot say......

Good. They can start by taking the pro-baby killing plank out of their platform.

Well said!

Matthew 7:15-20
Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?

So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.

A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

So then, you will know them by their fruits.

It’s interesting psychologically, how people strive to dramatically demonstrate their greatest shortcomings. You see the poorest people go into debt for the flash car, the biggest TV, and the gaudiest jewelry. The Dems are the party that has *single-handedly* lead the relentless and ruthless attack on religion for the last few decades, ergo,,they now must work hard to “prove” they are friendly to religion. Yet, if a 3rd-grade child is forbidden from bringing a cookie to school for the “winter party”, if it is shaped like a Christmas tree, or has red or green frosting, guess who has made it possible to demand this? (happened to my little girl)
When you see the eerie Stalin-esque spectacle of old carvings of the Ten commandments being chiseled off a public building built 50 or 60 years ago,,,, again, guess who demanded it? When Boy Scouts are badgered into the status a quasi-KKK, banned from military base sponsorship, again guess who?
The Dems only love religion in the way Stalin viewed the orthodox church,, mostly to be destroyed, but some to be maintained as a means of advancing socialism. If a church says Jesus was a socialist, fine. If a church ordains homosexuals, fine. If a church uses hysterical screaming hooting services to name America as the scource of all the worlds ills, fine.
Yes,,, of course the Democrats are friendly to religion. Sickening, but too obvious.

Yes, they will. It will be like the Chinese government-sanctioned churches. They’ll be like, “You can say this, but don’t you dare say that.....”

Might have been a nice gesture for the DNC to invite the ARCHBISHOP OF DENVER!!!

But of COURSE they’re faith-friendly!

Bhuddism
Hinduism
Confucianism
Gaia-worship
Scientology
Islam
Zoroastrianism
Almost any faith EXCEPT...

God-centered, Jesus-trusting, Bible-believing Christianity!

My only concern is that this might work.

Remember, the average “new voter” is some 18 year old kid who think MTV has news on it. He could be hookwinked into thinking that Obama would eat his raw liver while Hilary watched to keep the Holocaust of Abortion going.

Here in Mass if every Catholic voted Catholic we’d be all set, or at least the Church going ones could make a run towards morality.
