If you want special privileges, DO NOT COMMIT CRIMES. It’s not really hard to figure out. You want to wear the wig, DON’T commit fraud. You want to have the power to object, DON’T commit fraud.

Got it? I’d continue, but apparently I now have to go to a mandated sensitivity course.

Did it interfere with identification? That’s the key question.

OK, so I’m 50 years old and I never knew until just now that Orthodoix Jewish women wore wigs as a part of their religion.

And if it greatly altered her appearance; I would have told her to take it off. Just like I would have asked a Muslim woman to remove her veil.

I should think the religious requirement for an Orthodox woman to wear a wig would be secondary to: THOU SHALT NOT STEAL and THOU SHALT NOT COVET. I think FRAUD breaks both of those Commandments, at least.

Sounds like a twist on the Floridian felonious female that pled religious reasons for wanting to wear her burqa for mug shot a couple years ago.

I greatly respect the Orthodox women who cover their hair. They are following a longstanding habit in which some of the most righteous women in their history never exposed their hair outside the bedroom.

However, I don’t know this case (and innocent until proven guilty and all), but might it not be seen as odd perhaps to the Almighty that some habitual commandments are followed with such zeal while not cheating taxpayers is not as worthy??
