“Presenting themselves as Catholics when in fact they aren’t” ["Catholics" for Free Choice]

Catholics for a Free Choice distribute bogus holy cards, blasphemous comic books in Mexico that use Blessed Virgin in pro-abortion campaign

Falsifying the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the pro-abortion group that mendaciously calls itself “Catholics for a Free Choice” has for the last four years been distributing holy cards in Mexico bearing the following caption in Spanish: “The love of God and of Mary of Guadalupe is larger. For the lives of women, legal and safe abortion.”

On the back of the card, the following text is printed: “Dear Mary of Guadalupe, we thank you because your love is greater, because you listen to us without judging, because you know our heart and you respect the intimacy of our decisions.”

Catholics for a Free Choice is based in the United States, but is also very active in Latin America, where under the name “Católicas por el Derecho a Decidir,” it promotes abortion under the labels “reproductive health and rights” and “sexual health."

“This is not the first time CFFC-CDD has insulted Our Blessed Mother,” said Magaly Llaguno, executive director of Vida Humana Internacional, the largest Catholic pro-life organization in the Hispanic world. Vida Humana Internacional is the Spanish-language arm of Human Life International.

Llaguno was referring to a comic book distributed by Catholics for a Free Choice in Mexico and the rest of Latin America titled, “Y María fue consultada para ser Madre de Dios” (“And Mary Was Consulted To Be Mother of God”).

The front cover of the comic book shows a young mother praying before a statue of Our Lady and asking her what can she do about her unwanted pregnancy. The comic book suggests that if God gave Mary the freedom to decide whether or not to conceive Jesus, then every pregnant woman has the right to decide whether to have the child or to abort him or her.

A spokesman for the Archdiocese of Mexico City, Father Hugo Valdemar Romero, criticized Catholics for a Free Choice for its hypocrisy for claiming to be scandalized “when we mention the term ‘murder’ when describing what takes place during an abortion.” He said the group wants to act like “victims” simply because the Catholic Church preaches the truth in saying that abortion is killing an innocent being.

“I’m surprised by the hypocrisy of these groups,” the priest said, adding that the promoters of abortion are not scandalized by the act of killing -- but rather by the word "murder."

According to the Archdiocese of Mexico, using the term "murder" does not mean that the leaders of these groups are guilty of it -- unless they undergo abortions. But in supporting a law that promotes this practice they become accomplices.

Valdemar slammed the organization for inciting a campaign against Cardinal Norberto Rivera and for their efforts to destroy the Church. He called them dishonest for “presenting themselves as Catholics when in fact they aren’t.”

In portraying themselves as victims, Catholics For a Free Choice is using a media strategy to appear as weak women being attacked by the “intolerant Catholic Church,” when in reality it is a “multinational association” that seeks to confuse Catholics and promote acts of violence against the unborn child, Valdemar said.

I hate baby killers, but especially the ones who misrepresent the Church while calling evil good.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protector against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Catholics For a Free Choice (CFFC) is a nonprofit organization comprised of members who identify themselves as followers of the Catholic faith but take positions contrary to their church’s doctrine on a number of moral issues. The group candidly approves of premarital sex, contraception, and most notably, abortion. CFFC’s stated mission is “to ensure public recognition of the existence, in substantial numbers, of pro-choice Catholics.”

CFFC claims to be composed of practicing Catholics who, after much moral soul-searching, have reluctantly but courageously chosen to embrace a “Catholic alternative” to the views endorsed by the Vatican and Catholic bishops. The secular media have embraced CFFC as a legitimate organization whose positions and pronouncements are representative of a substantial number of Catholics. But the organization has no membership and is funded almost entirely by a small number of foundations and wealthy individuals whose interest in Catholic causes is otherwise nonexistent. Between 1996 and 2000, the organization raised approximately $15 million, more than 70 percent of which came from five sources that have never contributed to an officially recognized Catholic nonprofit: the Buffett Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and the Ford Foundation (which gave a total of $4.4 million). All five of these foundations have supported Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League, and the National Organization for Women. Other funders of CFFC include the Open Society Institute of George Soros, the Summit Charitable Foundation, the Scherman Foundation, the Compton Foundation; and the Turner Foundation.

“Catholics For a Free Choice” is the most anti-Catholic organization this side of hell

Moral soul searching, huh?

I wonder what orifice they’re looking in.

I have seen phoney churches do this before. I think they do it to either trick Christians (no Way) or make Christians look bad to outsiders.
