I guess "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations; baptizing them in the Name of Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember I AM with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20) is not as important as "From each according to his ability to each according to his need" (Communist Manifesto) at TUCC.
From the website:
We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.
Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.
The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:
1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.

Who knew Indonesia was really Africa
Ok, this maybe a set up, but this is going to be so fun watching Hillary and this young "Superstar" go after each other.
Of course you know you can't say your "Afrocentric" comment without being labeled a bigot by the left? Are you trying to deny the black community vision to better itself????????????????
I'm baffled how any Christ seeking body of believers can miss some basics of Christian worship.
For example, "Unabashedly Black and Unapologetically Christian", seems to forget to sacrifice the old man.
The use of the word 'unapologetic' in a well studied Christian environment brings to mind the study of 'Apologetics' in the faith. It also raises the question if this congregation truly is Christian or is merely a worldly counterfeit as a politico-social club resorting to religious appearance.
IMHO, I've never understood the appeal to race, color, sex, or nationality when one is studying our relationship with God. Perhaps the historical and prophetic study of the Hebrew nation of Israel, but everybody else simply fall into the category of Gentile, not black or white of Asian or Hispanic.
Not so funny thing is that one is tempted to satirize the appeal to the 'Black Value System' by posting pictures of culturally apparant valuation such as Mr T's gold chains, super-sized gold and diamond crucifix necklaces, and pimp paraphenalia in general, however such a post would be considered 'racist' and quickly banned.
I hope they see the light and return to a Christ centered value system.
No joke here....It's racist.
The first group reads like a manifesto on economic development. Question is if the U S has to do battle with an Africa Nation, who does the Church support?
Let us pray.
I sure don't see biblical reference to a black version of Christianity.
It's racism. It fits the definition well.
I found something in the new bible that was sent to me by the Democratic National Committee and the Nation magazine.
"Readily embrace those whose tongues speak of benefits from Caesar as he doth take from the wealthy. For they be not race hustlers, but men of your new god: government."
Trinity United Church of Christ is an equal opportunity employer.
took a look at their staff --all black
Commitment to the Black Family
can't help but wonder if they are opposed to interracial marriage
Sort of like "Black Work Ethic". The first thing that jumped in my mind was the shiftless losers outside the subway doing the step-n-fetchit routine, but I had to remind myself of Black acquatenances who went from GED to Masters degrees all while working.
A work ethic isn't Black or White. It's good or bad and any member of any race can have either. These people remind me of the Stormfront crowd.
Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
It is becoming harder to find qualified people to work in Chicago Whether this is trueor not, it represents one of the many reasons given by businesses and industries fordeserting the Chicago area. We must realize that a location with good facilities, adequate transportation and reputation for producing skilled workers will attract industry. We arein competition with other cities, states, and nations for jobs. High productivity must be agoal of the Black workforce. . . .
Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness
Classic methodology on control of captives teaches that captors must keep the captiveignorant educationally, but trained sufficiently well to serve the system. Also, the captors must be able to identify the talented tenth of those subjugated, especially those whoshow promise of providing the kind of leadership that might threaten the captors control.
Those so identified as separated from the rest of the people by:
Killing them off directly, and/or fostering a social system that encourages them to kill off one another.
THE BLACK VALUE SYSTEM (PDF)
I'm a bit more reserved on this perspective. I don't see anything wrong with living within divinely established institutions of family, or government based upon common factors of that people.
It is interesting to note that where the Tower of Babel is generally referenced as the beginning of God's establishment of national governance for believer and unbeliever alike, and this system of government might be traced through different nations of people, the US was much more of a melting pot of many nationalities.
I find it more productive within a church to study the Word of God than devote to worldly constructs. There might actually be some legitimate basis to these "Black Codes" if relating back to the divine institution of governance of multiple families within one government.
IMHO, my life is occupied 24 hours a day and then some just keeping in fellowship with God through faith in Christ, without becoming preoccupied with racial codes, but there might be a point or two in His plan for their efforts, provided they remain in fellowship with Him through Christ.
Why am I not surprised! Well because it's the UCC that's why. And it's Obama, that's why. He wouldn't join a real Christian church.
This Socialist The Obamassiah is scary.
Booooommmmp !!!
