Again, I ask simply, if all Hungarians hated the House of Hapsburg so passionately, why did they restore their kingdom in 1920? Why did they work so hard to get Charles to return? Why did they turn out by the thousands in TWO efforts to restore him? Why are the Hapsburg heirs still welcomed in Hungary today?

The fact is, the Hungarian liberals had a problem with the ultra-conservative Hapsburg Emperor. Their revolt was not a success, not all Hungarians supported it and in any event was a hell of a long time before World War I.

At the outbreak of WW1 the only people hell-bent on expansion were the French republicains, who had been so humiliated in 1870 and wanted Alsace-Lorraine back so bad they were willing to do anything to get it.

However, it is interesting to see that, after the Hungarians, you are now sympathizing with poor Muslim Turkey for being "picked on" by those mean ol'Austrian Christians. And, btw, Russian rule of the Balkans was exactly the point. Do you really think they were coming to the aid of Serbia simply out of the goodness of their hearts?

Its the German conceit that the Hungarians love being ruled by the Austrians.

Secondly you are flat wrong about the A-H not seeking to expand into the Balkans.

As a history major and a Catholic, I agree with you 100%.

WWII was really a "phase two" of WWI - a process to eradicate whatever remnants there were of Christendom - a civilisation based upon Catholic principles and monarchy.

In both cases - as you illustrated - the foundations were laid by our glorious masonic friends, and then the mighty armies of the USA were brought in to smash whatever was left of the "ememy". Unfortunately this resulted in the loss of many young men in our military service who were duped, as was this whole nation, into believeing that America was threatened by Germany (which it was not in either war).

This is not to call into question for one moment the bravery, devotion, or patriotism of those US soldier boys. Not in the least. But my point is that they were USED.....their God fearing patriotism was USED. And Europe was spattered with their blood.

Rather then - in either war - making the world "safe for democaracy", those soldiers unwittingly made it safe for Dupont, Citibank, Monsanto, Westinghouse, RCA, and every other American based transnational conglomerate.

Unfortunately, Americans have had their enthusiasm and patriotism taken advantage of by politicians who advance and agenda which does nothing to benefit people (or this nation). We are too easily willing to accept political appearance for reality.

Another major reason for the necessity to utterly destroy Karl's reign and the Hapsburg rule, was that it was the effective end of the long line of Holy Roman Emprorers - who still had veto power over papal elections till the end.

So Karl endured a martyrdom of the spirit in exile from his beloved homeland.

Blessed Karl, pray for us...and for our nation!

It should be clearly stated - and remembered - that Gaviel Pricip (sp?0 and Black Hand were Masonic.

That ties a lot of this together quite neatly.

After the final partition of Poland in 1795 Austria ended up with the province Galicia (largest city, Krakow). The inhabitants were all Catholic, and of the three participants(Austria, Russia and Prussia) were the only ones to end up in a Catholic environment. Pope John Paul II was named after his father. It was not unusal to name children after the emperor. The Pope's father may have been named after a relative who may have named after Charles VI, Maria Theresa's father. The Pope's father was a Lieutenant in the Austro-Hungarian Army and served under Karl I in WWI. It may also be noted the Popes St.Pius, Pius XI, John XXIII, Paul VI, John Paul I, and John Paul II all were natives of former Austrian provinces (Lombardy-Venicia and Galicia).

I do not know how fond the Hungarians really were of the Austrians, but one must remember that : when Cardinal Mindszenty was sent out of Hungary he lived in Vienna and was buried in Mariazell until he could be returned to Hungary; when Empress and Queen Zita died (1989, I believe) and was given a state funeral at St. Stephen's and interred in the Kapuchin Crypt many busloads of Hungarians and the Primate attended; Admiral Horthy did not want Karl restored because he wished to remain as Regent-dictator, and on his deathbed, in Portugal, he begged Archduke Otto for his forgiveness for doing so.
