You asked "But the greater threat comes from out side the church(es)from the courts and how they will decide on gay marriages. How will the churches deal with it?"

Okay starting from the fact that none of the conservative leadership have ever asked me for advice on anything (no surprise, I hope!) let me try to give you my best guess at what will happen. In all honesty I see the current degeneration in the legal system as merely another evidence of the degeneration of society as a whole. If you look closely at this article you'll see that the conservative Anglican leaders are largely coming from places in the Southern Hemisphere, including a number where Christians are still killed for their faith on a regular basis. Because of this I doubt that, at least as far as conservative Anglicans go, there will be any cooperation with any group or groups (governmental or otherwise) which seek to pressure us into pretending that homosexuality isn't perversion.

That being said, if one is watching what is happening in other denominations such as the ELCA and the UMC one can clearly see that this is one of the issues which is very clearly beginning to sort out the sheep from the goats. I expect this sort of thing to become more and more obvious across the entire Body of Christ on Earth. Why is it happening right now? I have some theories, but nothing definitive enough to put forward other than to note that for some time this particular passage has been weighing on my mind:

Hebrews 12:25-29

"25See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29For our God is a consuming fire."

Good synopsis here.

Aside-
I still wonder about "the rest of the story" on Mrs. Robinson (aka Norma McCorvey of the future). As a female, it is hard for me to swallow the fact that everything is so copasetic with her Holy Husband leaving her for another man. It just smells of ...dishonesty.
And the email touchy feely pal who almost threw the whole election by fessing up that he was manhandled by
Bishop Monogomous. He disappeared; good chance he was telling the truth. And all those boards that entice "questioning young males" into that ministry he started...
It is a lot more fun to float away on a sacred hi-church Episcopal Cloud every Sunday than to face these truisms.

I agree with what you said on this matter. There will be alot of shaking up of thing, even some of those things we thought were firmly grounded. Whats weight heavy on my mind is that very tuff times are ahead for the church(es) and this country. Thanks for the imput.
