Let's see: Partially disabled veteran (nothing exciting except for me: I slipped on some loose rocks and snow on a mountain in Arizona - training exercise while on active duty with the Army - and slid a ways on my back, jamming rocks up next to my spine, causing nerve damage). Anglican Charismatic Evangelical lay minister who is currently teaching in an extension center for a Pentecostal Bible institute (long story - it comes from being a conservative Anglican living in the heretical Episcopal diocese of Missouri where the bishop thinks blessing homosexual relationships is okay.)

Letter to the editor; published approx. 8/13/2004 after 8/5/2004 Whistle Stop by Kerry Campaign (Traitors R Us):

I must say I've found the pious whining of the various Democratic party flaks rather amusing. Said whining, combined with the biased memory of the Sedalia Democrat editorial staff (attempting to smear the Republicans by citing three drunks from a local tavern who showed up with inappropriate signs and were subsequently confronted by the police and forced to leave) clearly demonstrate exactly why the confrontation with the kerry-edwards circus was necessary. Just to clearly identify myself, I was the guy holding the wintersoldier.com sign. ...

Consider for a moment kerry's support for the continuing American Holocaust which has so far resulted in the murders of over 40 million unborn children. Next remember kerry's vote against the essential funding our troops in the current war on terror required to keep them properly supplied. Of course we can't forget kerry's continued support of the vain attempts to legitimize sexual perversion as 'alternate lifestyles'; and then there's his consistent stand against everything associated with gun rights issues. But even if one were to be able to ignore all of the above, anyone with a basic knowledge of the events surrounding the Vietnam war, and kerry's subsequent treasonous efforts to give aid and comfort to the enemy through his actions as a member of 'vietnam veterans against the war'; even if that's the only awareness one might have, it would still be sufficient to disqualify kerry from any public office, much less that of president of the United States.

As a disabled cold war veteran, I find everything john kerry actually stands for (as judged by his deeds, not just his words) reprehensible and entirely without merit. Obviously, from the crowd we had at the train station to meet the kerry-edwards circus train, I'm not the only one who holds these opinions. Verbal confrontation is an historic element of the political process in this country. If the Democrats were actually offended by this concept, they'd be doing something to call off their attack dogs prior to the Republican National Convention...but of course they aren't going to do anything at all; thus clearly demonstrating the hypocrisy of their complaints concerning the confrontation with the kerry-edwards circus train.

So to all those who weren't prepared to have their little leftwing cheerleading rally confronted with the facts, get over it. Everyone who lives in this area does NOT buy into the lies of kerry and his ilk; and those of us who don't are more than willing to continue such verbal confrontations with politicians just like him, as the opportunities present themselves. I guess you just need to be reminded of the words of another Missouri Democrat "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen".
