spong sees himself as some sort of revolutionary leader, even though if one reads any of his stuff (I do NOT recommend doing so) one quickly realizes spong's actual goal is the destruction of Christianity. In other words he's just another demonized fool who should have been excommunicated years ago.
A great many of the heretics are already unitarians, they just haven't figured that out yet. The primary reasons for their ignorance are their failure to have any depth in their theological studies, resulting in their failure to recognize that the panentheism which they attempt to preach is neither new nor revolutionary.

I know they the heretics are funny when you think how gullible they are to think they are being so intellectual when they have no heart no soul. I look at them and the lights are on but there is absolutely nothing in there the heart is missing. But it doesn't bother me to read Spong's writings, there are plenty of others who are smarter than he is who easily refutes his puny lies. I got a laugh when he wrote about the nativity and wise men and camels. HOw did he think people traveled by greyhound???? Oh ECUSA is toast, it may take a while for all the long time members who absolutely refuse to leave die off but ECUSA will be regarded in the same manner as Unitarian or any secular humanists. That is just my opinion. I think this slow erosion will continue. Look I wasn't even a real dedicated member and it has really left a bad taste in my mouth.
