Tom McClintock believes he is helping the conservative cause in California by staying in the governor's race. The state senator from Thousand Oaks couldn't be more wrong.

Attempting to recall Gov. Gray Davis is a risky business. Many people, including U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, who helped finance the effort, have considered voting against the recall just to avoid the chance of electing Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante to the state's top job. Davis has failed as governor, but he has steered a moderately liberal course so he could continue to raise money from big business. Bustamante, however, has made no effort to disguise his disdain for business owners and will move state policy sharply to the left on all fronts.

At this point, I'd probably just vote for the porn star or the midget.

I ping less frequently, but I just pinged "the posse" too -- if only the McClintock supporters would open their eyes and vote right tomorrow!

It's time for McClintock to come clean on groping. Have women groped him on the campaign trail?

Seems to me McClintock offers conservatives an additional choice. Whether they take it or not is entirely up to them.

As near as I can tell this is like claiming "new Kroger does shoppers no favors". Choice is good.

McClintock Does Conservatives No Favor

Conservatives aren't looking for 'favors'. We're simply looking for leaders who actually believe in conservatism and have the guts to act on it.

Tom McClintock fills that bill better than anybody who's come down the pike lately.

We'll leave the favor-seeking to the Democrats and Arnold's special interests.

They will, they'll vote for McClintock and not the groper.

Even if Arnold wins the GOP loses. The allegations will turn into lawsuits and the party as a whole will suffer.

The chance of splitting the GOP vote and putting Bustamante and his far-left policies into the governor's office should have been enough to convince McClintock to fold his hand before the election.

Ridiculous. There is no chance of this at this point. All the polls show Boostyourtaxes fading fast. The only question left is whether the recall wins or not. Clearly, Arnold will win question 2. Therefore, McClintock helps the cause by providing true conservatives a reason to go to the polls tomorrow.

This is nothing more than a sour grapes, thinly-disguised country club Republican hit piece against a fine and decent man.

well written article

it is all about ego for tommy the stone-eyed politico

if tom can win this race, do you think the dims will not tear him apart, look at who is his close aide in this campaign.

do tom think he is running statewide office in alabama, bible on the right hand and a legislative pen on the left...he is a spoiler and if he helps tp elect gov busty tomorrow, he is finnished. voters in ventura county could sit at home in 04 and rather elect a dim than an ego nut like tommy mcC..maybe he should chg his name to mcClinton - fits the profile better. i hope foxnews wont parade this fool on tv anymore, but then again, who the hell knows. How can any party has any influence if the party is not in control. Maybe a gov busty will teach these crazies a lesson and push them all off to mississippi or alabama instead of staying in cali.

In a heartfelt letter to his supporters, state Assemblyman Ray Haynes (R-Murrieta) outlined why he chose to endorse Schwarzenegger over his longtime colleague and fellow conservative, McClintock

Uh Oh! Here come the Ray Haynes is a RINO posts.
