[history]
On Thursday, weapons in spector David Kay offered Congress a simple, and entirely rational, explanation for why the United States had not yet uncovered vast stashes of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. It's all about size. Or lack thereof.

The annoying thing is that the anti-war left intentionally mis-states what the US claimed before the war, and then makes hay on the fact that we have not lived up to their mis-statements.
They say that we claimed Saddam had nukes on missiles mounted on launchers ready to go. Naturally we have not found any nuclear missiles, so the peace-niks claim we have not found what we said was there.
But we never said they were there.
If you want to infuriate your liberal friends, print out Bush's SOTU, the one with the "sixteen words", and print out Powells presentation to the UN, where he laid bare Saddam's activities, and read them to them. Every single item in those speeches has been found to be true, and the liberation of Iraq was justified on that basis alone.
But still the mantra is that "Bush Lied".
Here is a test of seriousness for any political commentator. If they are able to say with a straight face, in spite of all available evidence, that we have not found each and every thing we said was in Iraq before the start of the war, you know they are a political hack just looking to score cheap points off the administration. Any objective observer must look at the statements from that time and the materials found since then, and conclude that we have, indeed, found everything we were basing our invasion on, and that Bush did tell the truth.

Very informative article, thanks for posting. It is illuminting to learn the vast size of arms stored, and the difficulty in physically checking sites and each munition.
I am surprised however, that some former Iraqi officer or soldier hasn't came forward to show us where the WMD are hidden. Perhaps we should put a reward of a million or two on the information. It would definately be worth a couple of million to shut up the Democraps.

The press has neglected to inform the world of the horrific suffering of the Iraqi people under monster Hussein.
Neighborhood Ba'athist thugs have burned babies alive in front of their parents, gouged out their eyes, raped wives, imprisoned and then murdered whole families - if a child let slip his parents criticized Saddam, or worse - a parent was overheard.
Many Iraqis have already died helping us - murdered by our mutual enemies - remaining Saddam loyalists. Many more stand in line daily to provide information, especially after we took out the Hussein "boys", but Saddam is still alive and these people were tormented for years and they know the press and our enemies are trying to get our troops to pull out, possibly allowing the bad guys back in power.
It is their greatest fear. Whole villages have been leveled in the past because the people dared to protest Saddam's brutality.

John Podhoretz put the WMDs in perspective.
But, according to Kay, only 10 - that's ten, t-e-n - have been examined. In other words, 120 of the 130 known "Ammunition Storage Points" have yet to be searched for chemical weaponry.
How could this be? Well, Kay's team numbers 400, and they've only been at work for three months under very difficult conditions. And many of these dumps "exceed 50 square miles in size and hold an estimated 600,000 tons of artillery shells, rockets, aviation bombs and other ordinance."
Major point, ignored by the mainstream press.
Not us, of course. (^;
Good News From Iraq.....10/05/03
The press seldom mentions the mountains of weapons in Iraq provided by Saddam and our enemies to use against our troops. If they did, they might be forced to admit that the Iraqi people chose not to use these weapons against us. They'd also have to acknowledge that not one of the 'loaded' schools, hospitals, warehouses across Iraq that Saddam packed with weapons and ammo hoping to take out potentially thousands of civilians and/or Coalition troops was hit by a stray missile or enemy grenade.
1) We were welcomed as liberators by the vast majority of Iraqis.
2) Our military did such an awesome job toppling Saddam they prevented mass casualties - continue to do so at over 130 ammunition supply points, with more weapons found almost daily.

Kay himself said yesterday on "Fox News Sunday":
"I'm sort of amazed [that] what was powerful information about both [Iraq's] intent and [Iraq's] actual activities that were not known and were hidden from U.N. inspectors seems not to have made it to the press." Well, I'm not. This is precisely the reason I don't watch the alphabet channels. They simply cannot bring themselves to state the facts when a Republican is in office, that could possibly show them in a positive light. I wish I could've been more aware of that when Reagan was President, I would've turned it off then. TV Pundits on average, are vile and contemptible sloths.(Eleanor Clift is a prime example.) Thank god for the Internet, as it has freed me from yelling at the extreme leftists that were on my TV regularly.

"I am surprised however, that some former Iraqi officer or soldier hasn't came forward to show us where the WMD are hidden."Find Saddam and the rest will follow. The Iraqi's are still very much afraid of him because until he is dead or incarcerated he can still do them harm.
