Sussman, Ingraham, Gold lineup adds new Dynamic to KSFO Hot Talk 560AM SFO -
Ever since KSFO 560AM San Francisco didnt renew the Savage Nation contract a couple months ago, when I turned to tune into California hot talk in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area thereabouts and wanted to listen to the fabulous and brilliant Michael Savage, I switched over to 910AM San Francisco or 650AM Sacramento at 4pm Pacific. After Savage left the KSFO lineup, it became pretty tiresome listening to Sean Hannity three times a day, including reruns, even on Sundays. Ive been also listening in on the fantastic Bill Manders on KMJ 580AM Fresno and some of the other personalities on KMJ.
Maybe KSFO checked out some of their poor ratings lately, because they shuffled their lineup a bit for the better and have added a new dynamic to their hot talk, especially with the hiring of Brian Sussman who is now hosting the 7pm to 9pm slot Pacific. Tune this guy in folks, hes hot, and he can talk. He could be another Savage for KSFO as listenership cues in on him, in the sense of becoming a conservative standard with large audience and bringing in ratings for the station, though his style is very different from the Savage Nation. If you are in the Bay Area as a resident, or visiting on business or tourism, check him out definitely a winner. Another recent addition and winner is David Gold on weekends 1pm to 4pm, and of course they now are broadcasting Laura Ingraham on week nights in the 9pm to 10pm Pacific slot following Sussman, which adds a fantastic double header for news, information, and hot talk into the evening hours. Im a big fan of Ingraham, shes hot.
This new dynamic to KSFO is great, and for some who have tuned out this channel of late they should check it out again. A KSFO standard bearer is Barbara Simpson, and listeners to the station probably agree she's the smartest lady on radio when it comes to politics and a great host for hot talk. In my opinion, she should be moved from the weekend 4pm to 7pm Pacific slot, into Seans weekdays 4pm slot because Sean already airs from noon to 1pm and I find myself tuning him out because he is on the air too much on this station. Perhaps they could shuffle the window of hosts around and extend his noon show a bit, but this twice a day and one more time on weekends stuff doesnt cut it. But they should move Barbara into the weekdays, and then rehire Spencer Hughes to take Barbaras old weekend slot he was airing in Sacramento for a while, and hes a great host to reintroduce into the lineup.
So for those who have tuned out KSFO lately, tune it back in and check out Sussman, Ingraham, Gold, Simpson, Hannity, and on occasion, Hughes who fills in or comes on as a guest. A new dynamic to KSFO youve got to hear it is the human voice that moves history, more now than ever. And of course, KSFO has the god father of talk himself - Rush Limbaugh in the 9am weekdays slot, and the investigator Matt Drudge 7pm slot Sundays. Listen in, listen in - . . . its MATT Druuudge, Sunday Night! ... thats right better listen in.
But as loyal as I am to KSFO, they've taken some pretty big hits, lately. Mel and Lee have got me hooke in the mornings, but they're carrying the station just now, I think; I break down and listen to KNEW in the afternoons for Savage, who I conceed can be a real horse's ass. He must have been a real handful to deal with while he worked at KSFO.
Hannity means well, but he's more or less a knock-off of Rush. You need to emulate some narrow features of the greats, yes, but his process of deliberately moulding himself into what I guess he sees as a cut-and-dry Rush "formula" is off-putting in the extreme; he's successful, but he needs to let something flow from within. I just can't stand his show for very long, and I don't listen.
I'm not sure I can fully explain this...
Look, I'm sure he's a genuine conservative, and that he's not making his views up. And he's consistent, certainly more so than Mike ever was, and more so even than Lee. But Sussman is BORING - a quality that neither Mel, nor Lee share.
Oh, forget it! I never listen to him.
I take it all back....
Fantastic?? Really? How about not any more insightful or interesting than anybody else you might talk to at random? Excepting, of course, the vacuous KMJ callers.
Sean is a nice guy, but not very bright. He's a simple minded fellow who can't see more than a foot in front of his nose. Sure it's great you support Bush and the Republicans and the Troops. We all do, now what? I like when he has Curtis who founded the Guardian Angles on, then it really reminds me of sitting on the stoop on 89th street listening to the old guys talk. But I don't find it makes good radio.
Savage is very funny, and keeps you amused. He's quick witted in a bar-arguing sort of way. Sometimes he goes way to far, and is the Howard Stern of political talk. He'll say stuff just to shock. As amusing as it can be to listen to him the anger and hatred gets me down sometime and I just have to turn it off.
Rush remains the class act. He is vicious without being mean, quite a trick. His politics are solid conservative but he has his blind spots. He's like an old comfortable pair of shoes. You almost know what he's going to say before he says it. But then he will still surprise you. Rush did a lot for America by giving conservatives a voice. Everybody else follows in his footsteps, and he has worked hard to be number 1. It shows.
Laura Ingram rocks. She's smart and sassy. She doesn't talk down from the clouds like Rush (who else could get away with that?) but is like the smartest friendly kid in your freshman dorm who always nails it in discussions. Her voice is nice too, a great night time radio voice.
Dallas talk has not been the same since his voice went silent here a couple of years ago.
His pumping up Arnold, of late, has not helped to keep me tuned in.
I agree completely with the above statements. I too have lessened my listenership to the Sean Hannity Show.
sean lets the "commie-libs" rant n keep telling the "big lie", he doesn't do his homework, n refute what they say; he lets them "talk over him"...SHUT OFF THEIR MIC'S SEAN...
same ol b.s. over n over; don't watch sean anymore....he keeps giving "credibility" to all the ol' "klintonistas...", bye sean, have a great life...
