Schwarzenegger: McClintock a Pawn of Pro-Bustamante Indians
NewsMax ^ | Spet. 19, 2003 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 09/19/2003 8:52:17 PM PDT by FairOpinion

American Indians who are supporting Democrat front-runner Cruz Bustamante in California are also promoting Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock, and GOP front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger is furious.

"I think that as far as Tom McClintock is concerned, I think the question I have for him is, what side is he on?" Schwarzenegger said Thursday. "Is he on the side of the Republicans? Does he represent the Republicans, or does he represent Bustamante?"

Schwarzenegger suggested that the tribes were abetting Bustamante by trying to split the Republican vote.

"They are financing his commercials and TV spots and all that," said Schwarzenegger, who doesn't take money from Indian tribes. "He knows they're financing him not because they want him to be governor. They just want to interfere with the process so that Bustamante wins. He has to decide which side is he on, the Republicans' or Bustamante's."

McClintock called Schwarzenegger's comments "a ridiculous statement by a man who obviously hasn't paid much attention to California public affairs. ... For 20 years, I have fought to protect sovereignty on reservation lands, well before there was gaming.

"If they wanted to hurt Schwarzenegger, they would be making an independent expenditure to hurt Schwarzenegger, and Lord knows there's plenty they could hurt him with."

Assemblyman John Benoit, R-Palm Desert, a Schwarzenegger supporter, told the Riverside Press-Enterprise: "I think the idea of divide and conquer is a tried and true tactic. I can't speak for the Indians, but if there was somebody looking to help Bustamante, this would be the way to do it."

Every time the Terminator opens his mouth I am further convinced to back McKlintock. No wonder Arnold doesn't want to debate. He is a fraud.

McClintock can pooh pooh this all he wants for the benefit of the gullible and naive, but all the pros know exactly what is going on. McClintock is smart, though, to bet all his chips on this race, 'cuz it's highly unlikely the party will support him for anything higher than county dogcatcher after this farce.

Man, you Arnold folks are OLD, REALLY OLD. You're part of the crowd who has been shovelling the same old manure for four decades that conservatives can't win in California.

HERE IS A QUOTE DEDICATED TO YOU:

"Dear Mr. Reagan, it should be obvious to you now that you can never be elected governor. Please put aside your ego, for the good of our party, and get behind the one man who is moderate enough to appeal to California voters - - San Francisco Mayor George Christopher."

Look Magazine 1966

You all lost in 1966 and 1970 and you're going to lose again. The McClintock-Reagan wing of the GOP is coming for your man. We smell blood in the water. Prepare for defeat. Abandon your lousy sinking RINO ship.

There is little difference on the issues -- Proposition 54, the Family Leave Act, abortion, vouchers, Proposition 187, homosexual domestic partnerships -- between the Three Stooges (AKA Arnold, Cruz and Gray). It's over. After Wednesday's debate, we're going to start singing. We are literally going to eat Arnold -- the man who is into Christian hating (hiring as an adviser Bonnie Reiss, the chum of People for the American Way's Norman Lear); calling conservatives "right-wing crazies" and in public saying he prefers the pump to coming. A sick man...and he is going to even sicker after he loses and has wasted his money on running.

Here is an article which just nails it. A "must read".

Tom McClintock - The conscience of a conservative?

Agreed...there is no "there, there". Has nothing to say other than that which has been scripted for him.

IMHO..Grayout remains Gov.

This is all for naught...

I really thought the guy had more sense than this. Taking the blood money, lying about it, making cheap shots at others to cover his tracks - really a sorry spectacle by McClintock.

Schwarzenegger should stick to acting.

Maybe not - Other than this year's T3, he hasn't had a real hit since 1994 True Lies. (Eraser sucked even though it grossed over $100 million)

Contradiction supreme. $100 million + = blockbuster.

What is he planning to do then, if he knows he's blowing his chances for the future by his tactics now? He must have some sort of strategy, he is still young and not wealthy enough to retire. Could it be he really believes he can win?

I don't know, it doesn't really make sense. Obviously, he is alienating the vast majority of the pros in the party - the convention proved that, plus the fact that the congressional delegation has pretty much turned its back on him.

He may just be content being a state senator and figure this race raises his profile statewide and gives him more influence in the senate. Or he may be thinking of forming a third party. But his future in the Republican party - he is beating that to death with a sharp stick.

"Winning" for desperately naive RINO supporters now means voting for a "conservative" liberal anti-Christian phony -- Aah-nold.

This is all about power and ego -- NOT California. Remember, it's Scharzenkennedy running for Gov-aah-nah.

Thanks brother and God bless you. The Arnold Kennedy crowd are on the wrong side of history. Reagan won in '66 and '70 and it's time for another great victory -- despite the Rockefeller-Christopher-Ford RINOs.

Please remember:

Man, you Arnold folks are OLD, REALLY OLD. You're part of the crowd who has been shovelling the same old manure for four decades that conservatives can't win in California.

The Arnold hacks were spreading manure in the '60s, too. And don't worry I am taking the names of the RINOs, so when they back Howie Dean -- we'll know they are are interloopers and disrupters.

Kelly, you should already understand that the Rockefeller
Repubs who grabbed control of the state party with W's
approval have stuck it to Tom for a long time including
reneging on financing in '00. They gave him $100,000
when he was neck and neck and held that to the last minute
cause they don't want any conservative in office, here or
NJ or anywhere...
Tom is a very popular State Senator and will be able to run
CA as Gov and yes he thinks he can win... or another race
if not since he is a leader and has the CA Repub Assembly grassroots with him 100%. ;^)

Great catch!

Some of our own have to learn to draw a line in the sand and fight. McClintock can win, and it is HE who represents us-- Not one more RINO-light marauder like Arnold who will only inevitably betray true conservatism -- and d@mn the (R).
