I think you are off on your anaylis. Hilary as a VP would eclipse anyone with presidential ambition and be more of a drain than a asset. How does she benifit Wesley she may bring funds and instant momentum, but what a deal with the devil.

I can even tell by your phrasing that you are conflicted and actually see it coming.

Her ability to eclipse actually supports rather than defeats my hypothosis. It isn't about the party, its about her and Willard. Using the campaign as a way to make her look viable for 2008 would certainly meet their standards.

TRIPOTUS and Rodhamn take the long view. They don't fool themselves the way that the Kennedy's do. They aren't part of that insular east coast leftist culture, but are more of the power hungry Port Huron mentality of the west coast: Power first; enslavement system second.

Bush is only truely vulnerable when playing their game. With the half-baked, voter mandated, No Child Left Behind and the Prescription Drug Entitlement both being duds for Bush that he tried for middle-of-the-road acceptance, Hillary is the sort of candidate that will never let real Federal issues drive the campaign. She will stay on the leftist entitlement issues with never a waver. Terrorism will bring up "unfairness" to the deprived Palestinians, Military readyness will bring up deficites, the Needy will trump tax reform...the script is written for her.

2004 will be where she refines these talking points, even if they only bear fruit for her in locking the nomination in 2008.

I doubt that hillary would run second on anyone's ticket. She would consider it demeaning. And to some extent, she has a point. She has done little or nothing to earn a reputation, but that doesn't bother her admirers, who think she's NOW's gift to humanity.

Your perception of a problem with her running second is actually a confirmation of my point. With Vanilla Wesley, she runs as the Alpha Male part of the ticket. It increases her credibility with those who aren't her slavish devotees.

A switcheroo could be in the cards if Bush misteps, but it is all about Her and only secondarily about Party victory. They don't care about the Party unless they are in control. The pardons and other out-going baggage confirms that.

has anyone asked wesley about Mena, Dan Lasater, Barry Seal, etc?

I imagine that Wesley's time in the service insulated him from the Hot Spring's Mafia's sideshows. While they are motivating coverups for Bill and Hill', Wesley is pristine and pure as a Uniformed Hero.

A close Clinton associate, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the former president is not siding with any candidate. However, he said Clinton is the most “emotionally invested” with Clark, the candidate with whom he has most in common. The pair has had a casual acquaintance since the 1960s, culminated by the rise and fall of Clark’s military career under Clinton.

BUZZWORD!! BUZZWORD!!!!

An anti-war general??? Please!

Above quote from this article:

Is Clinton pulling Clark’s strings?

Well, I think we agree on one point. Hillary would lick the floor if it would improve her chances of becoming president.

Its so cute when those Clinton kids are coy, isn't it?

After sending his staff, enmasse, to help Vanilla Wesley, The Manchurian Candidate, he has the unnamed sycophants allow that he leans, alittle, toward the great Generalle.

I love that quote where Wesley tries to explain on Meet the Press how this country was founded on the principles of progressive taxation....LOL.

This is all anybody really needs to know about Wesley Clark:

Bill Clinton
Hillary Clinton
Mickey Cantor
Bruce Lindsey
David Pryor
Skip Rutherford
Mark Fabiani
Eli Segal
John Podesta
Rahm Emanuel
Mike McCurry
James Carville
Paul Begala

and those are the only ones that are named at this point in time.

Anybody who can't see that for what it is -- a "government in waiting" -- doesn't grasp what is going on here.

Has anyone here seen a poll indicating that voters anywhere outside the media favor Wesley?

I'm sure the Clintonistas are preparing accounts of such a beast now.

Hillary!'s best bet is to be on the ticket in 2004 as VP...and only if she's sure Bush will win. This, IMO, explains Clark entering the race surrounded by Clinton "stratagists" (or satanists, as I prefer to call them.)

She can't win in 04 and she sure doesn't want to be Veep. But a losing Clark/Clinton ticket is her best shot at a 2008 springboard.

My husband agrees with you! I do also with one exception. If the Democrats believe that Bush is truly vulnerable, she is liable to enter the race now to take the top of the ticket, with Clark as VP - rather than having to wait until 2012 to run.

Except Bush really, despite media spin, isn't as vulnerable as they want us to believe. The economy is turning around, we've won two wars and are on the road to winning the peace, and--again-- despite what the media says, the American people have "bonded" to GWB and trust him.

The Dimms and their media mouth pieces know the American people remember how the President led this nation and economy through the worst attacks in history. And, so does the President and his political gurus.

Hillary! won't win in 2004....AND she understands that in 2012 she would have to have to come up with more than being a victim of the "vast right wing conspiracy". So, my prediction is the Billaries will make sure Bush wins in 2004. The year of the Hillary! is scheduled for 2008 (IMHO)

Our challenge is to make sure we've got a viable Bush successor.

I agree with you on all of your points! The polls going into the last general election showed their own bias. IMHO, if we see Hillary! throw her hat in the ring, then it is time to take the polls seriously.

Do you see any "rising star" in the Republican party for 2008? And do you see any movement by Cheney to make such a candidate viable (assuming he is not for health reasons.)

Not certain yet. And that's very good news. The "star search" will begin January 21, 2005 ;^)

That we'll be successful----I have little doubt!

There is only 1 person in the next generation of Clintonoids, only Chelesea, and the Kennedys can out breed them if nothing else. It's a big clan.

Depends on whether or not you include Bill's various and sundry spawn up and down the Mason-Dixon line...
